My RF didn't pass inspection last Monday. Scott Mazda said my inside rear pads were 1/32. They weren't kidding. In my youth, there would have been rivets chewing up my rotors.
I decided to order brakes from RockAuto. Premium ceramic rear set was $7.43. I am really curious to see if there is a noticable decrease in brake dust. Since I can't forsee me taking my RF to a track event, I don't think any possible fade from heat is a non factor. I didn't do my front pads yet. I am sure I can get this summer out of the old ones, before swapping in my $10 new front pads.
I remember paying $40 for a set of pads when I was young and only making $6 an hour. And they had rivets...

I think they are ceramic from the factory. My Veloster N has semi-metallic pads which are really effective but filthy as heck. They are track pads. When they have served their life I will likely replace them with EBC Red Stuff. Be careful with cheap pads as they might eat into your rotors more than necessary.
If my pads were ceramic from the factory, I am glad I stayed ceramic. I despise brake dust. All of the wheel packages I have for my cars have a lot of open space to allow dust everywhere. Long gone are the days of steel disks and hub caps.

I'm sure you could find some that fit your RF if you look hard enough, Louie 🤣!

I never thought about it. But I bet the right hubcaps may look cool on an NA. The car has an old school body style and 14" wheels.
I had a1985 S10 with nice factory hubcaps. There was a blue disk if color in the center with the Chevy bow tie. I could see those with a Mazda logo...

Hey Louie, I just saw someone over on m.net post that they recently installed some Konig MRK1s with Arocovers. I was going to say that they are lighter than a steel wheel but just saw they weigh in just over 20lbs! Maybe not so good for a Miata. They do have a nice rally look with the Arocovers installed though.

I just watched the installation video. They look light. Maybe 20 pounds with the whole wheel? They do look pretty cool with the red center.

Maybe? I was guessing the covers weren't included in the weight as they are sold separately? I knew you'd like that red center. 😉

I noticed the wheels they use in the video look like a copy of my Enkei PFM1, so they would probably work.

Hopefully I will see you at a Run with my RF. I would like for you to check out my powder coated BBS wheels. They certainly look one of a kind.

Yes, can't wait to see them in person! I was too late to sign up for the Hawk Mountain Run, maybe next month?

I just bought a new laptop. My old one is unbearably slow and out of date. My hope is to be able to get my Garmin working with my new one, and retrieve the many Runs I have from my old one. If all goes well, I will lead some Runs in July and August. I have some vacation time that I take during the summer.

I will let you know. Worse case scenario, I may be able to send some files to Walter to load on his, then use it to lead some Runs.
