Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Join Walter for another new Drive, which will begin at the Upper Macungie Park, along Route 100, just north of Fogelsville.  We will be driving familiar Miata roads in Lehigh and Carbon Counties that our Club has enjoyed for decades.  Once we traverse Blue Mountain via Route 309 we will be driving Miata roads that are not as familiar to our Club.  Hopefully I will be introducing you to Miata roads you have never driven.  Our rest stop will be at the Walmart Super Center on Route 443 in Lehighton.  Following the rest stop, we continue to drive our beloved Miata roads South of Route 443 and North of Route 895 and eventually cross the Lehigh River via Route 209.  We continue to drive South of Route 209 and arrive at the Blue Mountain Lodge for a picnic lunch and an additional rest stop.

After lunch, we continue South over Blue Mountain and enjoy an Ice Cream dessert at the Blue Mountain Drive-In.

The Drive is approximately 97 miles in length and each leg of travel is approximately two hours.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

First thing I'd like to ask is how is Jude doing @randywendyrohl?

Thank you again Walter for putting together this drive!  Those roads through the Mahoning Valley were excellent!  Also thanks to Louie and Corrina and Dave and Janice for keeping the group together throughout the ride.

@doug It was wonderful to meet you and your wife today and found it great that you were out there with us with the "temp tags" still on the car.  🙂  Those cookies were very good too, thanks again for sharing!  😀

@ctt3mx5 Thank you for asking about Jude. He was a bit pale, but doing fine. The turns and the speed upset his stomach. Lesson learned…add “barf bag” to glove box for newbies 🤢. Sorry we missed the rest of the run. Looked like a fun day. See you on next run!

Thanks for a fun day, Walter!  Those great roads were certainly new to me... I always enjoy cruising "new" routes 😋!  And, once again, we out-foxed the weather gods and wrapped up before the rains came.

We enjoyed meeting Doug and Randi, with their "new" Miata.  There's no better way to become acquainted with a new Miata than on one of Walter's fine drives!  And, as Jeff noted, a big "thanks" to Randi for treating us to cookies 👍!

Jeff and Dave, so happy you men enjoyed those new Miata roads. I found Mahoning Mountain Road two years ago and have been looking forward to introduce it and other area roads to the Club. I can not over emphasize the importance of the function Corrina and Louie, Jeff, and Janice and Dave provide on these Drives. Their dedication keeps our string of Miatas together.

Always a joy to meet new driving members in Randi and Doug. A joy sharing lunch with you and getting to know you. Nice having another Military veteran with us - Navy. Randi thanks for providing dessert, it was a big hit.

Randy so sorry to hear of Jude's illness. Hope he is feeling better.

Thank you Walter for this great drive today! Also, I really can't express how much I enjoy seeing new members and "hope to be members" at SO many drives this year! Today we had new members, Doug and Randi show up with their new Miata they literally just bought this month. I could actually watch them learn the dynamics of their car as the ride progressed.  Super cool. Our rides provide so much enjoyment for all of us, it is the members truly make this Club as special as it is.

I am truly proud to be President of LVMOC!

Randi and I had a wonderful day and we thank each of you for being so welcoming.  It's amazing what a few cookies will do! We look forward to more events and seeing everyone again.  Thanks for all the time and effort that went into this event.  We had the easy part - went along for the ride!
