Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Join Walter on another Miata excursion into the Pocono Region.  Along with enjoying 103 plus miles of Miata roads, this Drive features lunch, at the Snydersville Family Diner, and, for dessert, Ice Cream at Jane’s Ice Cream and Eatery.  We will also visit the Francis E. Walter Dam and take a drive around Lake Harmony, at the Split Rock Lodge in Luzerne County.  Looking South from the Dam head one can view the beginning of the Lehigh Gorge State Park, which extends South into the Lehighton area.

The first leg of travel is approximately 55 miles in length, with our rest stop at WAWA, on Route 940, in one hour and fifty five minutes.  Our second leg of travel is approximately 48 miles in length, and our rest stop is at the Snydersville Family Diner, in one hour and fifty minutes.

If you have never visited the Francis E. Walter Dam or taken a Miata drive around Lake Harmony, this is Drive is a must.

The Drive will end at Jane's Ice Cream and Eatery, near Stroudsburg.  Following a five to six hour day, the forty minute travel back to the Lehigh Valley is via four lane roads.

We will gather at the Shell Station, 428 Nor Bath Boulevard, Northampton.  The Shell Station is at the intersection of Route 329 and Howertown Road.  We will meet at ~9:00 with a Driver’s meeting at 9:30 and a departure time of 9:45.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

This is now our 30th Run of the year.

This discussion re. photo and video links just reminded me... I still had photos in my camera (yes, I still use one of those things!) from the Un-Polar Bear Drive, in July.

Here's a LINK to that thread, where I finally posted the links 🙄.

I see the same thing @triviawayne.  Makes me sad but not sad enough to create a Facebook account. Lol

having a FB account alone wouldn't do it, the poster has to make the video post public.

Looks like I missed a great drive,  but I spent the day with my little nephew at Knoebels.  It's hard to say no to family.  Hopefully I'll see most of you on my run in a couple weeks.

Brian, you did miss a great Drive but you certainly made the correct decision in spending the day with your nephew. You are going to have to follow in the footsteps of our Uncle Jeff and bring your nephew along on one of your Miata Drives and let him operate the FRS.

We are looking forward to your Drive on the 29th.

It is now posted! You should be able to see it!

Thanks, Louie, Corrina's video is Awesome. Always nice to revisit a great day via Video.

Whatever Corrina did to allow us to view her video, she should pass it onto Annette. Jim has another fine video.

You are welcome Walter! I don't know what Corrina did to share it, but as you have known for years.... whatever she does is always spot on... 😊
