WHEN:         Sunday, October 1, 2023   12:00 Noon – 3:00 p.m.

WHERE:        Egypt Memorial Park

                       Curt Simmons Way

                       Whitehall, PA   LOCATION

LVMOC will host a Fall Fling on Sunday, October 1, 2023; this is a return to an annual event that we enjoyed in previous years.  We will gather for a picnic-style event at Egypt Memorial Park, in Egypt (where else??), Lehigh County, to share memories of  the 2023 season and to enjoy each others’ company before the weather once again “goes south”.  Food and beverages will be provided at no charge!  Included will be snacks & munchies, sub sandwiches & fixin's from Wegmans (like we served at the 2021 CarBQue), pasta salad, fruit salad, sodas, teas and water.  Dessert will, of course, be the ICE CREAM at the end of the drive!

The registration cutoff for this event is Sunday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m.  This will allow time for us to purchase the necessary food and refreshments.

We have reserved an enclosed pavilion (which can be opened or closed, according to the weather) and there is ample parking.  The facility has picnic benches under roof and lavatories.

Directions: From the intersection of PA Routes 145 and 329, north of Allentown, turn west onto PA-329 (Main Street).  Proceed 0.5 mile and bear right at the traffic light.  Proceed 0.1 mile and turn left onto Curt Simmons Way.  Drive directly into the park's first parking lot, on your right.  If you're arriving from the West, via PA-329 (Egypt's Main Street), you will turn right onto Curt Simmons Way 0.3 mile beyond the Exxon Station, which you will see on your left.

The picnic and socializing will begin at noon and last until ~3:00 p.m.  At that time, we will head out onto the roads of northeastern Lehigh County for a Fall drive of about 30 miles (~ 1 hour), which will culminate in a visit to a local ICE CREAM emporium!  Route directions will be emailed to participants during the week preceding the event

Your registration in this Forum thread confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, and we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

During the drive, we will use FRS radios for communications.

What a wonderful way for all of our Club members to socialize with each other prior to the forthcoming cooler season ending our time together for another year.

A Huge Thanks to our Leadership for putting this event together. Well Done.

Although Nancy and I were unable to attend the Drive and ice cream, we heard it was a Great Drive and the ice cream was delicious.

Thenk You again for the time and effort put into this event Louie, Neil, Dave, Jeff and Ken.
