Glad to see people in this club getting into track events, in the (distant) past there didn't seem to be much interest. I'll be at the 7/8 and 7/27 Pocono events but with an RX8 now. You know, a long heavy NC with the wrong engine.
Fabulous! I happen to love the RX8 as I think it’s like the NCs bigger uncle. I would rock one in a second if the rotary was good to go.
What time do you get there? They say gates open at 3pm but last time I went everyone was basically already there and got the best spots under the large field house area, so we are probably going to be there around 1pm this time.

@stormnd2club The official schedule says 1pm for Pocono these days, and I'll be there around then. Just doing run/work this time to get one session on the new car and make sure everything is OK. Weather is looking like crap though.
While we have been experiencing a kind of unsettled pattern lately - 7/27 is still three weeks away - unless you know something I don’t; lol. Usually the furthest I’d look out with around 50 percent accuracy is 10 days. Hope it’s not too hot. But I’ll take that over rain. 🙂

also thanks for letting me know it’s open doors at 1. Looks like I’ll be getting there even earlier then

So what I’ve found is about a dozen or so people cancel about 3 days before bc their cars aren’t ready or they blew something up. So since it’s still 3 weeks away good chance you get a shot!

Oh, talking about weather on the 8th, in 2 days, sorry. But I will be at Pocono on the 27th as well.
OHHHHH that makes more sense, lol. I thought maybe you were going by the farmers almanac 🙂
good luck let us know how it goes !

Sounds like it is bumping back to 2pm gate for next time. But not for sure. Basically...read the email they send the day before.
FYI the weather pattern looks like it will continually to be “unstable” for the next 2/3 weeks. Meaning random t/showers several days a week.

@stormnd2club No video these two events. The car did well, mostly.
Pocono was on Michelin PS4S because of threatening rain, and they're really not up to the task in the dry, getting overheated and greasy about halfway through a session. But the car was good, temps were good, brakes were good.
NJMP Tbolt was on Falken RT660. It was hot as hell, about 96* and very humid, cooldown laps were needed but I was running in Novice group since int/adv had sold out earlier, which meant i could just be patient and have more like 'cooldown sectors' while waiting for a point-by or rolling through pit lane for a gap. It looks like about 4 hard laps would be fine before needing a breather which is not unreasonable for an RX8 with stock cooling, in the worst possible weather for cooling the car down.
15 minutes into the final session a random fuse popped resulting in a tow off the track because it killed the fuel pump. The car has a history of this, it's why I got the car non-running and cheap - we then fixed an obviously bad plug in the circuit, replaced the fuse, and the thing has been fine for 6,000 miles, over 100 autocross runs and 2 track days. Until it popped again yesterday. No clue why. Can't find any more wiring issues. Guess I am just going to replace the fuse again and hope it lasts another year....
Hope it gets figured out. Biggest pet peeves being an auto enthusiast: fluid leaks & electric problems. Tho seems we are moving as a culture to soon have no fluids in the vehicles at all, and ALL electrical stuff. Lol.
anyways weather for Tuesday looks good up in Long Pond. High 82-84 and partly cloudy/dry. I just did my brake fluid and filled out the tech sheet, I have to remove everything from the trunk including the carpeting then, oil change etc.
