Found a nickel-sized rust spot on Bergy's left rocker panel just in front of the rear wheel arch. Thoughts and prayers, please.

Hmmm... not good...

I recall that Iva had dealt with this a few years back.  I believe she found a shop and had the rocker panels either patched or replaced.

Oh no!!! ☹

Hopefully what is behind that nickel sized spot is just as small!

I know a great body guy who fixed some rust on my Protege5 rear quarter panel.  He does good work and he is honest.  Took the same car there a couple of years later to inquire about more rust repairs and he flat out told me not to waste my money.

Let's see if I can post up some pics of the work Caleb did on my P5.  The rust was already there but one night as I was driving through a parking lot, a guy backed out of his spot right into the affected area causing the hole that you see.

Jeez, not a lot of time to edit posts around here.  The accident happened August 24th 2011 and I took the second pic on November 12th 2011.

Checked with my body guy. It appears to be "but a flesh wound." The underlying metal is sound. I'll get it fixed up. It's been a while since I've checked the drains, so, as soon as the weather warms a bit, I'll do that too and try to do the ol' fender purge as well. Always a good time! Thanks for your comments.

Turns out it was a hole. Cut it out and welded in a patch. Looks great now. Chester County Auto Body in Paoli, PA. Not handy to the Lehigh Valley, but walkable from my house. Highly recommended.
