Hello Everybody! Wow what a journey... Before the blower went on the compression check was solid 185 across all cylinders so we felt safe moving ahead. Then it started with large smoke at startup (then no/almost none during driving or boost). Had the head off to a machine shop, 3 angle valve job/cleanup, decking, and new valve stem seals. Nope! Head back off and then new manganese valve guides put in... not smoking at startup now but smoking after oil pressure gets up like a Dade county mosquito sprayer. So time to take a deep breath and finish the job once and for all and have the bottom end done, figure not just rings/honing but forged rods as while we're in there.
If anyone has used a local Allentown/Bethlehem area shop for that type of work please shout out, this has become the most frustrating couple of months ever! I was so happy at first (oh yeah, pulled wicked hard!) and such a clean install that this feels like such a punch!
Call Redline Automotive in Bath. They did my 2.5 swap and did a solid job at it. They do a lot of work for Xero-Limit.
