Hello everyone,

Warmer weather is just around the corner. What are your favorite roads for some safe, spirited driving? Longer the road the better.

I am in Wyoming county.

Thanks,

Isaak

It's close to my house but here's one in the Tannersville/Henryville area That I call the Targa Pocono: Take PA715 north(?)  from PA611 to the stop sign at the intersection of 715 with Club House Roat. Pocono Union Church will be at the right side across the intersection. This is the start of the loop.

Go straight on 715 down the winding hill. Woohoo! Go to the stop sign at "the end of the road" at PA191. Turn right.

Follow 191. There's a long straight section that I pretend is a high speed straight. In my pretend world I get up to 100+ mph in my '90 NA. It ends going through a tunnel that curves to the left.

I pretend there's a chicane just before that because it would be insane to go that fast through the tunnel, and slowing down gives you an chance to make all kinds of echo of your exhaust while accelerating. Keep going.

It gets sort of winding again, and before long you'll get to Mary Anne's Ice Cream on the right. Consider it as a pit stop.

Get back on 191 until you come into Analomink. Right after the Analomink post office turn right onto Cherry Lane Road. There will be a section with rock cut. More echoes? And then a one-lane railroad underpass. Watch for oncoming traffic...but more echoes.

Continue up Cherry Lane Road. Lots of twisty bits but be careful of blind crests. Drive to the next stop sign. Turn right on Club House Road. More twisty bits. The next stop sign is Rte 715. Turn right to wash, rinse and repeat. Continue until the local residents bring out the torches and pitchforks.

Excellent choice of roads for your Targa Pocono course, John 👍... I'm familiar with them!  A lap of this route is guaranteed to leave any Miata driver smiling 😀!

Thanks for posting this.
