Following are personal profiles that our nominees for 2026 have submitted:
Doug Brittain (NotaMG) - Candidate for LVMOC President:
Hi to everyone! I am last year's LVMOC President and I joined in July 2023. My first roadster was a 1970 MG Midget and I have enjoyed my roadsters ever since. In the past two and a half years, I have been very active in most LVMOC events, and you may have seen me in a 2023 Ceramic Blue RF. This is my third MX-5 and I just recently purchased a blue 2005 Porsche Boxter for fun.
I recently was replaced at work by AI and have decided to retire. I was a CFO and President of Finance of a healthcare company traded on the Nasdaq exchange. My work afforded me the opportunity to travel to many states and train thousands of accounting and operational executives. Meeting new people was one of my greatest joys. I grew up in the Town of Babylon LI NY in a fishing village on the ocean. I married later in life and moved to Bayside Queens with my wife Annette. Finally, we adopted my daughter from Russia and moved to Long Valley NJ, where I currently reside.
My love of driving has prompted me to remain in this office. I have made many friends at LVMOC and I am always impressed by how passionate you are about Miatas. My goal is to improve the club stature, club drives and club events. I have been active in many Miata activities in other states' clubs, including rallies to VA and TN with other LVMOC members. I hope to incorporate these positive experiences into LVMOC. The club is its members and I am open to any suggestions, ideas or criticisms on how the club can improve your experience. Please contact me anytime to discuss your thoughts.
If I have not had the pleasure of meeting you in person yet, I hope to see you this coming year at an LVMOC event and look forward to 2026.
Kim Bjorheim (Kimx5) - Candidate for LVMOC Vice-President:
I joined LVMOC in the spring of 2024 after getting my first Miata in 2023. I've always enjoyed cars and driving. I am also a FIAT owner, so I'm no stranger to small cars, but Miatas I had driven in the past always felt a bit too tight for comfort. That changed when I came across a beat-up 1991 NA that was too tempting a deal to pass up. After a few interior modifications, I was able to make the car comfortable, and I finally get why “Miata Is Always The Answer.”
When I am not driving my Miata, I enjoy riding my bike, working on cars and I also enjoy taking my FIAT to track days and other driving events. I currently live in Lower Saucon Twp with my wife and college-age daughter. By day I work in the insurance industry, leading a corporate video production team.
Nothing beats hitting the road as a group with fellow LVMOC members. Since becoming a member, I've enjoyed the camaraderie and participating in drives and events. I've also led a few drives this year along with fellow club member Hoa V. I am looking forward to serving the club and helping build the LVMOC community.
Domenic Federici (Fun to Fly) - Candidate for LVMOC Secretary:
Hello Fellow Members.
I'm Domenic Federici.
My wife, Cindy, and I have been pleased to have met many of you at our picnics and drives.
With the acquisition of a second Miata, we look forward to socializing and spirited drives throughout the year.
I am honored to again be nominated to serve as Secretary, and look forward to supporting our group in any way possible.
Dave Povenski (the stig) - Candidate for LVMOC Treasurer:
I started getting interested in cars when I was 12. My dad was a Chevy guy, but just the plain Jane Biscayne 4 door sedans. Because he was a Chevy guy, I was too.
My 1st car memory was when 2 ’63 Impalas with the “mystery” motors, qualified on the front row for the ’63 Daytona 500. I started following NASCAR, F1, sports car racing, and drag racing.
I was reading Car & Driver, Road & Track, Sports Car Graphic, Motor Trend, Car Craft, Autoweek and Hot Rod and other lesser known rags.
My 1st big race was the ’64 Indy 500. I’ve seen F1 in Canada, Watkins Glen & Indy. In addition to those tracks, I’ve been to Michigan, Daytona, Sebring, Talladega, Dover, Charlotte, Rockingham, Pocono, Nazareth, Mid-Ohio, Lime Rock, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Englishtown, Maple Grove, Pikes Peak, Nelson Ledges & a few bullrings including, Canfield (OH), Grandview, & Flemington.
Before I could drive, I was listening to the Indy 500 on Motor Racing Network and I also listened to the ’65 Sebring Race on that network, too. Back in those pre-internet days, it was hard to find what stations carried MRN and what races MRN broadcast.
In addition to Indy Cars & F1, I’ve watched NASCAR, NHRA Nationals, IMSA, SCCA Regionals, Can-Am, Trans-Am, Formula 5000, 6 hours at the Glen, sprint cars, quarter midgets, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb & vintage racing. In the motorcycle world, I’ve seen AMA road racing, hill climbs, motocross & hare scrambles.
I have also autocrossed, raced a sprint kart, driven in TSD rallies as well as clue rallies. I’ve created and run clue rallies and I’ve go-karted and led drives for LVMOC & another group.
I’ve been to too many car shows to mention them all, but I have been to 4 different concours d ’Elegance: Amelia Island, Radnor Hunt, Lime Rock and the one that at one time was at the hilltop campus of Lehigh University - The Concours d ’Elegance of the Eastern United States. I’ve also been to several car museums including the one in Indy, Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum (Ocala, FL), The Lane (near Nashville), National Corvette Museum (Bowling Green, KY), The Auburn, Cord Duesenberg Museum (Auburn, IN), The Gilmore (Hickory Corners, MI) and the Revs Institute (Naples, FL)
Cars of interest that I’ve owned include a ’66 Corvair Corsa, a ’72 TR6, a ’78 Fiat 131 Brava, an ’86 Caterham 7, an ’88 Mazda RX7 Roadster and ’04 and ‘09 Miatas. BTW, EVERY car I’ve owned is a manual.
Motorcycles I’ve owned include a ’90 Yamaha XT350 (on & off-road dual sport), a ’96 Suzuki Bandit 600, a ’98 Honda VFR800FI Interceptor, an ’00 H-D FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport, an ’03 Yamaha FJR1300 and an ’07 Suzuki Bandit GSF1250SA.
So you can see I’ve been quite the motorhead most of my life, and my interests are all over the place.
Professionally, I’ve had 3 different careers. My BS is in accounting from Rider College (now University). With that education, I had jobs as a cost accountant, general accountant, financial analyst and budget analyst. That career lasted about 10 years
I then took a couple of COBOL programming courses and became a mainframe computer programmer and then programmer/analyst. That career lasted about 24 years
When I got downsized in 2005, there was a glut of COBOL programmers looking for work (because of the need for them for the Y2K date problem) and I didn’t want to commute to Philly, so…
I got my CDL-A and drove 18 wheelers until I retired in 2010.
I currently have a part-time (M-W-F) accounting/administrative assistant position at a local company.
Regarding LVMOC, for 2025 I originally was going to run for VP along with Dougie’s presidential candidacy, but when Dave Sell announced his retirement from the treasurer’s position, Doug & I gently coerced Michele to run for VP, so that I could switch my candidacy to treasurer, so the club could have continuity in that position. I promise to faithfully uphold the high standards that Dave has set for the office.
Ken Hill (Ken Hill) - Candidate for LVMOC Governor:
Hello, Ken Hill here seeking your vote for Governor. I have been a member of LVMOC since 2008. My last Miata was purchased from a former LVMOC owner, so my car had a longer membership in the club than I do.
I am a car nut in general, but have focused on Miatas since 1994. My current 2008 Miata is my 4th. I started with a Mariner Blue 1990, and moved to a 1992 Sunburst Yellow in 2001. In 2008 I bought a 2002 Vivid Yellow Miata, which I "retired" this year and replaced with a 2008 Midnight Blue PRHT GT. All have been extensively modified by myself. I have tinkered with all my toys starting as a kid and continue to do so as an adult.
I enjoy driving my Miata with my son Evan and other like-minded people. The organized club drives are an important part of my life. I'm running for office to give back to the club that has given so much happiness to Evan and me.
