WESTERN POCONOS / WILKES-BARRE / LANDS AT HILLSIDE FARMS
When - Saturday, July 18, 2020
Drivers' Meeting: 9:30 a.m.
Depart: 9:45 a.m.
Where - Sheetz Station
5001 MacArthur Road
Whitehall, PA Location
Event Leader - Walter Cramer
Walter will host a nice ride on July 18, 2020, through the Western Poconos region, with a possible visit to the Francis E. Walter Dam (if the road is open by then) and a run up the road used for the Giant's Despair Hillclimb 🤩, near Wilkes-Barre. The drive will leave from the Sheetz station in Whitehall, at the intersection of MacArthur Rd. (PA Route 145) and Chestnut St., and head north, over Blue Mountain, eventually passing through Hickory Run State Park. There will be a "comfort break" at a WAWA in that area, about 1 1/2 hours into the drive. The next stop will be for our picnic lunch at Kirby Park, in Wilkes-Barre. NOTE - Please bring a snack or picnic lunch with you. Also, if you can fit them in, consider bringing camp chairs or folding chairs along, which will aid with the social distancing. From there, the route runs northwest for ~ 10 miles to The Lands at Hillside Farms for our now-traditional ice cream dessert.
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars (or stuffing our faces with ice cream). To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
This drive will be limited to 15 cars, including the leader, with priority given to paid LVMOC members. If the 15-car limit is not met, we will open the drive to non-members.
We will probably use FRS radios for communications.

We'll add you to the "Waiting List (Non-members)" list, Evan. As of now, there are two openings... if no additional paid members sign up before tomorrow, you should be good to go.
Are you the gent who joined us a couple of weeks ago, with the red, custom RHD car? The Club would love to have you as a paid member and benefit from your experiences. Dues are only $15 for the remainder of 2020. I'll email some membership info. to you.
