Nazareth Raceway may be gone, but there are still some great roads there!!

Jordan White, one of our new Club members, has created a new drive for us that ends in Nazareth!

Nazareth Lives

When -                   Saturday, October 24 10:00 a.m.

                                  Drivers' Meeting:         10:20 a.m.

                                  Depart:                       10:30 a.m.

Where -                 Wawa 3820 Nazareth Rd,  (Easton Nazareth Road) Easton (New Starting Point!!)

This is the intersection of 248 and 33

Event Leader-          Walter

Length-                   3+ hours (98 miles)

The route takes us under a covered bridge which is part of the LHV covered bridge tour. Super nice. There are many very twisty windy roads that are so much fun, and here and there small portions where it’s windy in parts and with straightaways.

As for the comfort break, we would pass Slopeside Pub @ Blue Mountain approx 2 hours into the drive. They have a public restroom and there’s a perfect area overlooking the valley to take photos, maybe even some great group photos.

The planned route has us returning back there where we could finish with a stop at Red Robin,  which is only minutes away, for whoever wants some food & drink at the end, or anyone who wishes to end it there is of course free to do so. I will inform RR  about our group.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

This drive will be limited to 15 cars, including the leader, with priority given to paid LVMOC members.  If the 15 car limit is not met, we will open the drive to non-members.

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder .

Attending: ALSO- if you would like to stay and eat with the Club afterwards, let us know when you sign up. We will eat at at Red Robin.

Red Robin sounds good to me. I think they have outdoor seating now, part of the parking lot.

Attached a photo of the actual Covered Bridge (comes up around 90 min into the drive) and also some shots we took at Blue Mountain a couple months ago. Could get some good ones if anyone wants to take any during the break.

Blue Mountain also has several vending machines for drinks and snacks, and of course Slopeside Pub is there, but last time my friend and I went it was a 2 hour wait as on a nice weekend day it gets very crowded since it’s all outdoors and that’s the big thing right now for obvious reasons, so I didn’t even bother thinking about that-

The covered bridge:

View from Blue Mountain for potential photos if anyone’s interested (solo, group, whatever you wish) - we could line up or do whatever -

Jordan, how did you post those photos? Many members here would like to know how to do that.

What posting pictures on our Facebook page isn't good enough for you? I share, and I  share! For you Jeff! For you! Yet you don't post any pictures of your car there. It's like it doesn't even exist...

LMAO Louie!  I have seen the Facebook page and look at the pictures that I can.  However I don't do Facebook so I can't post pictures or see the albums that people post.  I do appreciate that you share for me though!  🙂

Some of us like to stay off FB as much as possible though.  I try and use it strictly for my business and nothing else anymore.

Life is better without FB

Which is why my newsfeed on Facebook is only car related.

Unknown to our members, is that we used to pay $700 every so often for our website to be hosted on a server. That allowed for pictures and whatever else we put up there. We now have our site hosted on the personal server of one of our members, and he asked us not to put pictures and videos on his server because he needs it for his business.  He charges us nothing, which is critical for a small Club like us.

Our Club has insurance, fees it pays, and other financial obligations that have us on a shoestring budget. We would be terrible guests on his server if everyone started uploading 8 mb photos.

Our Facebook page has probably 1,000 photos on it. Any one of them can be saved by any member straight onto their phone.
