                                  Fogelsville, PA   Location

Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Walter would like to offer this drive to those folks who could not participate in its June 19 running: Some of the "Jersey Gang" and others who had to work on June 19.

The drive will again start at the Upper Macungie Park, along Route 100, just north of Fogelsville.  We will be driving familiar Miata roads in Lehigh and Carbon Counties that our Club has enjoyed for decades.  Once we traverse Blue Mountain via Route 309 we will be driving Miata roads that are not as familiar to our Club.  Hopefully I will be introducing you to Miata roads you have never driven.  Our rest stop will be at the Walmart Super Center on Route 443 in Lehighton.  Following the rest stop, we continue to drive our beloved Miata roads South of Route 443 and North of Route 895 and eventually cross the Lehigh River via Route 209.  We continue to drive South of Route 209 and arrive at the Blue Mountain Lodge for a picnic lunch and an additional rest stop.

After lunch, we continue South over Blue Mountain and enjoy an Ice Cream dessert at the Blue Mountain Drive-In.

The Drive is approximately 97 miles in length and each leg of travel is approximately two hours.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

I was wondering if I could get a club magnet this weekend?  I'm horrible with names, but I believe that I was talking to Janice on my last drive and she said that there should be some available?  If so, I'd like to buy one on Sunday, please.

Thank you, Louie.  And thank you to you and Corrina for being Middle spotters. And as always, a huge thank you to our Tails, Jeff and Haley, making sure we stayed together as a group.

And once again, my compliments to all who attended the run today. You were superb in keeping the group tight - Well Done.

With our momentary drizzly start, who would have imagined we would have a good run today. We even found DRY roads. And to finish the drive and enjoy a picnic lunch at Blue Mountain Ski Lodge in dry weather was the icing on the cake.

Thanks to Jerry and Wanda for leading us to a new Ice Cream stop.

Thank you to all who drove to the starting point this morning in rainy weather. Having Luiza and Alex join us all the way from "rainy" New York City was a real treat.

Thanks again Walter!  Haley and I enjoyed ourselves today and thankfully the rain held off until we were done eating lunch.

🙁  Guess Haley and I should have left our radio on a little bit longer.  After everyone left, we got out and walked to the doors only to see that they were closed.  Had we heard that Jerry and Wanda were leading us to a new ice cream stop, we would have happily followed!

Jeff, so sorry to hear that. Jerry and Wanda took us to a place not five minutes away from the Blue Mountain Drive-In. I don't even know the name of the place. I was to preoccupied with the dozen or so "Classic Junk Cars" the owners had strategically placed throughout the property. I have attached a couple of photos.

And the Ice Cream was delicious.

Here are links to my dash cam recording for today's drive. I am using 2 Google account so I can upload 10 clips on each one due to daily limits. I will upload the rest tomorrow. I was behind @livetodrive Joe and Tina so a lot of good footage for their blue MA

First link to the first half of the drive before arriving at Walmart, go the the channel video list for the remainder of the first half recording

Second link to the second half of the drive starting when leaving from Walmart, go the the channel video list for the remainder of the second half recording
