THE 863 ADVENTURE DRIVE
When - Saturday, August 29, 2020 AND SUNDAY AUGUST 30!!! Due to possible inclimate weather on Saturday, I will lead a drive both days! If you wake up Saturday and decide "not today" please sign up on this thread for Sunday (as signing up is also a waiver). You may want to do both days too!
Arrive at: 9:00 a.m.
Drivers' Meeting: 9:15 a.m.
Depart: 9:30 a.m.
Where - Key Bank, Macungie
201 West Main St. (PA Route 100)
Macungie, PA Location
Event Leader - Louie Draxler
LVMOC V.P. Louie Draxler will lead a drive along the winding roads of Lehigh and Berks Counties, including our long-time favorite stretch of PA Route 863 (enough turns & hills to keep you smiling!) The details are still in the planning stage, but Louie is hoping that we can end the drive by dining at the Alburtis Tavern's outdoor seating area. The Tavern has indoor and outdoor seating right now. They are not taking reservations due to Covid-19, instead, it is first come, first served. They believe we can be accommodated, just not seated together. Please let Louie know if you wish to go to the Tavern!
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars (or stuffing our faces with ice cream). To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
We will use FRS radios for communications. Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

Indeed it is. I am sitting at home recovering and Tam drove it to work today as well as down 22 on the way home from the hospital yesterday. She came home for lunch and I asked her how she liked it. She said she liked the feel much better than the NC (never wanted to drive it) and would drive this one more often. Oops. haha
Going for Pres! Nice! Thank you for the kind words but not sure I'd want to take that on. I am happy to sit back and just enjoy the drives and company. 🙂

Any consideration to postponing until the next day (Sunday?) It’s supposed to be a peach of a day.

No, I had not thought of that. But, if it turns out crappy, I am not adverse to running it again Sunday morning at the same time.
That is an executive decision 😉

If Saturday's weather is a bust, I think it would be fine to move the drive to Sunday . It's likely that not everyone could make this change, but, as Tom said, it looks like Sunday will be nice... currently, the forecast is for a sunny day with a high of 79 degrees. It would be OK with me.

UPDATE!! Saturday is green light. Just in case this is a bad decision, I will do the same drive on Sunday. Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel. If you want to join me on Sunday, please sign up in this thread for Sunday. Also, let me knowiif you will be staying at the Alburtis Tavern Sunday.

Add Walter to Sunday's group if Saturday's Drive is a bust - no lunch.
Please add Tom to the Sunday drive. I'll bail on the Saturday drive. Also, no for the Tavern.
Thanks

I am good for Sunday if Saturday turns out wet. Count me in for lunch on Sunday also.

I will move you on Saturday to the Sunday list if you don't show up Saturday morning.

Louie, if it is not raining on Saturday morning, it sounds like we're meeting at Key Bank at 8:45 - 9:00 and see what happens from there? If so, I will see you on Saturday morning.
If weather allows, are you making the drive on both days?
I am planning on doing it on both days. I have already been messaged by people who are seriously leaning towards Sunday. I have also heard from people saying it has to be Saturday for them, as they already made other plans for Sunday.

That will be a nice "trend setter" for the Club. Way to Go . . .
If Saturday is too wet, we'll join you on Sunday, also for lunch. We're flexible 😊.
