Louie & Corrina Draxler (484-788-3810)
Join the gang for our annual top-down celebration of the new year! This will be a clean-roads-only event. We will meet in the Weis Market parking lot, near their Gas & Go facility, off PA Route 100 in Fogelsville, PA. The route will take us along fun roads in Berks, Schuylkill and Lehigh Counties. There will be a "comfort break" at about 1 1/2 hours into the drive.
Due to the recent surge in COVID infections, there will be no dining arrangement following the drive. There is a Cracker Barrel adjacent to the drive's ending point, and the Starlight Diner is nearby, on Route 100, just south of the I-78 intersection, if you wish to head there on your own.
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
We are limiting the number of cars on this drive to 30, and we will be leading two groups of cars, to ensure a safe, enjoyable drive with minimal waits for regrouping, and we are giving participation priority to paid LVMOC members. We will use FRS radios for communication. Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder!

Amanda has to work today and Sara has friends visiting.
That leaves Marie and I - we're leaving in a few minutes.

Yes, thanks to all who put today's run together. Haley and I had a blast and the weather held out. Am I crazy for hoping the temps were more January like? 🤪

The Weather Gods treated us favorably today! Jeff, I agree that it could have been a bit more January-like, just to keep with the spirit of the "Polar Bear", but I won't complain. Other than some cinders, the roads were good, albeit rather damp. I'm just happy that we avoided any rain, except for a few drops around Kempton. The sun even peeked out a couple of times!
Thanks to Jeff and Haley, for driving "tail" for our group, to Louie and Corrina, for herding their group, and to Janice, my capable co-pilot, for keeping me on track.
Happy New Year to all, and Happy Birthday to Annette... sorry I neglected to wish you this in person today!
Looking forward to many more LVMOC drives and events this year 😀!

I had a great time today, it was great to flex Brigits muscles one least time before she hibernates.

I have been on probably 14-16 total official Club runs, and I would say todays route was probably my favorite. If only the roads were dry everywhere and those cinders weren't there like Dave said.
I would highly highly recommend this route be done again in the spring time, it was just perfect.
I will post some photos I took of us all meeting at the end in the next post.

So this was AFTER the drive so many cars were quite dirty:

Ok so this is, to my knowledge, unless someone stole it, drove thru mud and then cleaned and returned by far the dirtiest mine has ever been. And I still have to get the under carriage yet, get more fuel stabilizer, but it was a BLAST today so it was worth it for sure. Pics below of it cleaned and then I went over it with Meguairs Detail spray:
Whoops.. appears I missed a few spots..

Found a few more pics of the group:
^^ This one I took by holding the phone up and just hitting the iPhone feature that takes a ton of pics at once, almost all were blurry but this one kinda cool above

Had a great time on my first, not-really-Polar-Polar Bear drive. LOL
I tended to take some turns and curves easy since I only have summer tires and an open rear.
Might need to save my pennies for another set of wheels with all-seasons for next year.
Dave this was a great Run. Everyone in my group agreed as well. Thanks for bringing your A Game! It was a great start to the season!

@jp1 I keep my stock wheels for winter duty, and buy lighter and wider ones for summer duty. Believe it or not, despite all of the "gram saving" they did on our cars, we have some heavy rims. The stock ones on my NC were 17x7, and my 17x8 are actually lighter. Same with my RF. I have 8.5" wide wheels on that. Those are also lighter. Wider does not necessarily mean heavy.

@stormnd2club Dave does the Un-Polar Bear Run too. This will be great this summer!
