POLAR BEAR 2022

THE DATE OF THIS DRIVE IS NOW SUNDAY, JANUARY 2!

When -                Sunday, January 2, 2022

                                     Arrive:                    10:00 a.m.

                                     Drivers' Meeting:  10:15 a.m.

                                     Depart:                   10:30 a.m.

Where -              Weis Market Parking Lot, near the Weis Gas & Go, 1625 PA-100, Fogelsville, PA  LOCATION

Group Leaders -  David & Janice Sell (610-442-8054)

                              Louie & Corrina Draxler (484-788-3810)

Join the gang for our annual top-down celebration of the new year!  This will be a clean-roads-only event.  We will meet in the Weis Market parking lot, near their Gas & Go facility, off PA Route 100 in Fogelsville, PA.  The route will take us along fun roads in Berks, Schuylkill and Lehigh Counties.  There will be a "comfort break" at about 1 1/2 hours into the drive.

Due to the recent surge in COVID infections, there will be no dining arrangement following the drive.  There is a Cracker Barrel adjacent to the drive's ending point, and the Starlight Diner is nearby, on Route 100, just south of the I-78 intersection, if you wish to head there on your own.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We are limiting the number of cars on this drive to 30, and we will be leading two groups of cars, to ensure a safe, enjoyable drive with minimal waits for regrouping, and we are giving participation priority to paid LVMOC members.  We will use FRS radios for communication.  Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder!

@stormnd2club

We'll certainly have some solo drivers, Jordan.  In fact, several are already on the list.  I'm sure that, if you p.m. some of them, someone will be happy to have you on board as their navigator.

Thanks. I just don't want to impose, I know everyone's different and some like being alone and some hate being alone (in their car). I just am in the process of finally winterizing everything bc it was so warm out today, but who knows. It's already mid December and so far (knock on wood) - no real snow to talk about or brutally cold temps. I remember certain years it snowed before Halloween!

Corrina and I will lead a second group. I would love to have all 30 cars fill the pack. In fact, if need be, I would accommodate a couple more if it means more of us can join in the fun!

Put me on the list,  but I reserve the right to bail if there air temp is below 38° or the chance of precipitation increases,  as my mostly worn out UHP summer tires become terrifying in those conditions.

Since the weather forecast indicates clean roads, Nancy, the white NC, wants to join her friends. Please move her and her driver to the list of participants. Thanks! 🍾
