Nazareth Raceway may be gone, but there are still some great roads there!!

Jordan White, one of our new Club members, has created a new drive for us that ends in Nazareth!

Nazareth Lives

When -                   Saturday, October 24 10:00 a.m.

                                  Drivers' Meeting:         10:20 a.m.

                                  Depart:                       10:30 a.m.

Where -                 Wawa 3820 Nazareth Rd,  (Easton Nazareth Road) Easton (New Starting Point!!)

This is the intersection of 248 and 33

Event Leader-          Walter

Length-                   3+ hours (98 miles)

The route takes us under a covered bridge which is part of the LHV covered bridge tour. Super nice. There are many very twisty windy roads that are so much fun, and here and there small portions where it’s windy in parts and with straightaways.

As for the comfort break, we would pass Slopeside Pub @ Blue Mountain approx 2 hours into the drive. They have a public restroom and there’s a perfect area overlooking the valley to take photos, maybe even some great group photos.

The planned route has us returning back there where we could finish with a stop at Red Robin,  which is only minutes away, for whoever wants some food & drink at the end, or anyone who wishes to end it there is of course free to do so. I will inform RR  about our group.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

This drive will be limited to 15 cars, including the leader, with priority given to paid LVMOC members.  If the 15 car limit is not met, we will open the drive to non-members.

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder .

Attending: ALSO- if you would like to stay and eat with the Club afterwards, let us know when you sign up. We will eat at at Red Robin.

Hey all. So I just checked out the Red Robin and I don’t see their tent up. They still have outdoor seating but it is more limited - I counted 10 umbrella tables w/ around 40 seats. While that would be enough if it was just us, if the weather is nice it could be quite busy with other people.

The Nazareth Diner on the other hand still has their large tent up and more outdoor seating. I just took this photo (it’s at nighttime but you can get a feel for its size):

Since both are like 2 min away from each other, I suppose we could decide the day of and see if Red Robin has room for us? Up to you guys?

Like the bathroom stall says "I'm easy".  haha

Sounds like a good idea to me.  We can play it be ear and make a drivetime decision.

Jordan, nice pre-run today. The folks are going to enjoy you October 24th drive very much.

@stormnd2club

I can get everything to work in posting a photo except the actual post. The image uploads just like it is supposed to and I click on copy in the URL link area. When I pasted it in the forum thread, well, you saw what I get.

Great so we still have 3/4 more spots open - shaping up to be a lot of fun. I’ll be driving the ND2 for this one of course, not the NA1. But I wouldn’t rule the NA1 out for a drive soon. I ordered a new head unit and am looking at procuring a new steering wheel and seats for it for right now. Then tackling the bigger stuff
