Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

This is the 41st drive this year!!

Walter noticed that the Club had nothing scheduled on its event calendar for Sunday, November 7, so he set out to remedy that!

Please join him for another 90 plus mile drive through Lehigh and Berks counties.  Some of the roads are Club favorites and others will be of the new variety.  The first leg of travel is approximately an hour and fifty minutes, and we will stop at Leaser Lake for our Rest Stop.  Our next leg of travel is approximately an hour and forty-five minutes.  As the title of the Drive suggests, we will head to the Eight Oaks Distillery , in New Tripoli, where the drive will end.  There, we will have Lunch and, of course, a tasting, if you so choose.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 8:45 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😉.

Attending:

  1. Walter & Nancy
  2. Celia & Warren
  3. Wayne & Comet (if Comet finishes that fence... 😆)
  4. Neil & Kelly
  5. Jim T.
  6. Ralph and Becky

Thanks to Janice and Dave, Wanda and Jerry and Jim Turner for joining me today on the 8 Oaks pre-run. The good news is we found some favorable roads that you will be enjoying. We also ran into a Detour and two roads that we should not have Club Members driving on. Alterations have been made to both the GPX file and the turn-by-turn directions.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Looks like Comet will finish the fence, and I will have finished my car quiz...which means as long as I remember to bring it with me, you can test what you know about cars just by looking at close up pictures of twelve of them, all you'll need to do is name the model of each.

i am off Sunday (tomorrow)! looks dry and mid 50s!

If there is room, Id come for at least half the drive - after that she is going to bed until March/April, getting too cold.

If no room is left totally understood.

My 2010 Miata NC is the Silver PRHT with the Super Charger and the RX8 brakes.. Just Dropped a new tune on the ECU can not wait to test it out.

I know your car well. I would love a ride up the street to be able to compare it to my 2.5L swap.

I would pay $ to see a side by side 2nd gear 20mph-65mph 3 honk throttle stomp between these two NCs!

Good morning,

I'm brand new to your group and would like to join in tomorrow's brewery junket, however, I will only be able to participate in the first leg from Sheetz to the Leaser Lake rest stop.  Will that be acceptable?

 Thanks.

Jordan, there is more than enough room for you and we would love to see you and your ND2Club one more time before you put her to bed for the Winter.

See you tomorrow morning.

Good Morning, Troutacus. Yes, we have more than enough room in tomorrow's Drive. We would love to have you join us and get to know us, as we will enjoy getting to know you. Driving only the first leg of the Drive is certainly acceptable, it happens all the time with our varied schedules.

Actually, 22 Miatas is a bit much for the comfort of the drivers in the stop and go that happens on a Drive. We will be breaking the group into two driving groups. Myself and Janice and Dave Sell (Club Treasure) will be the Leaders. Looking forward to meeting you in the morning.

Walter

Great! I think this is the final week. Since 65 mid week temps.

Welcome and thanks so much for joining. I don’t know the exact numbers but due to excellent methods & adaptations by the leadership this club has grown almost double since I joined last year.

BTW if your Miata has been outside all night it will have a layer of moderate frost on it. Mine did when I got home at 3am, it’s 24 degrees in Whitehall right now. You may want to go start it and let it defrost for 10 min before you head out. Just a heads up for anyone who reads this
