Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Join Walter for a late-season Drive to re-stock your kettle potato chips. The 100-ish mile drive has us leaving Lehigh County and traveling West into Berks County, stopping at Redner’s Market on route 183 for our rest stop.  We continue on our drive and arrive in Womelsdorf, PA - the home of Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips.  We will return to Lehigh County, via our beloved Miata roads, where we will enjoy a 1:30 - 1:45 reservation for lunch at Madeline’s Fogelsville Restaurant.

Visits to Dieffenbach's have become ritual pilgrimages for LVMOC.  If you have not yet tasted their chips (and other goodies), here's your opportunity (Walter has mapped a great route, also!).

Be sure to let Walter know if you will be staying for lunch at Madeline's!

NOTE: DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF THIS EVENT, WE WILL ADD A SECOND GROUP OF CARS, TO BE LED BY TOM AND DAWN HORVATH!

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.

Yep ! Lunch too sorry. This is just assuming it’s not raining or like below 30 degrees 🙂

@stormnd2club I get the rain part but if the temps are sub-30's just grab a jacket, scarf, beanie and some gloves.  😉

Hey, that is exactly how we were dressed for the Westward Ho Drive last weekend. I had four layers on all day with my skull cap and winter gloves. And the heater was running full blast as well.

Yep, a lot of fun.

Fun for sure!  I have been commuting all week with top down, seat heater on, a lightweight jacket, gloves and my Boston Scally cap. 😀

@kenjo

Thanks for the heads-up, John. We'll miss you on this run and the videos that you typically post of the run on Facebook.

Count Marie and I in.

Unless she ends up working on her weekend off - it happens. In that case it'll be Sara and I or just me.

No lunch.

Dawn and Tom Horvath and I did our pre-run of the Dieffenbach's Drive today. As a result of congestion in the Cracker Barrel parking lot our meeting place has been changed to the Weis Markets. The address is at the top of the thread.

On the first leg of travel, we were 3 1/2 miles from Redner's and we came upon a road closed sign. All three of us reached for our cell phones to check out Google Maps. With that, a local, young woman stops her vehicle and comes over to give us assistance. She gave us a wonderful re-route to get to Redner's. Our Angel for the day.

The rest of the route is in good shape. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday morning at the Weis Markets.
