Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Saturday, May 1st is predicted to be another warm, partly sunny day that was created especially for Miata owners.

Join Walter on another one of his drives to re-stock on your kettle potato chips. The 100 - ish mile drive has us meeting at the rear of the Cracker Barrel at 7720 Main Street, Fogelsville, PA.  We then begin our trek by leaving Lehigh County and traveling West into Berks County until we arrive in Womelsdorf, PA - the home of Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips. Traveling back into Lehigh County via our beloved Miata roads, lunch will be an option at Hops Fogelsville Hotel., which offers outdoor dining.

Be sure to let Walter know if you wish to go to the restaurant!

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by ~9:30 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😉.

Great weather, great roads and great friends... thanks for a fun day, Walter!  And, it's always nice to have guests join us, to see what we're all about.  In this case, Zak and Emily made the trek from Philadelphia to "zoom" along with us (Zak would like to become a member of LVMOC... I'm sending membership info to him today).  Also, James, and his co-pilot/son, Logan, from Dallas, PA, attended (this was their second drive with us), and James has now become a member of LVMOC... welcome, James!  BTW, James has installed a supercharger on his 2010, NC... very neat installation, James 😎!

Warren, I will be leading this drive again on May 16th - Westward Ho and Fogelsville Hotel Lunch Drive. Current weather is sunny with a high in the mid 60's. Looking forward to you and Celia driving with us.

Side note is anyone’s car (if you park outside) getting absolutely crushed with pollen the last 10 days? It’s the worst I’ve ever seen it. I just washed mine. Overnight, by tomorrow 10am it will be yellow again. I noticed it shows up the worst against the contrast of the soul red crystal - ugh. I need a garage. Or garages.

The pollen is so bad it makes me look like a Steelers fan

@stormnd2club The pollen has been very bad this year.  Thankfully it isn't as noticeable on my ceramic metallic but the wife's eternal blue CX-5 started getting a green hue.  I washed it yesterday but she parks outside at work so I am sure it is covered now.

@triviawayne My sincerest apologies! 😋

What a perfect day we had for a drive to get some chippies!  The views were gorgeous and the roads were wonderful!  Thanks Walter for putting it together and to Dave and Janice for saving us from getting lost in the PA countryside.

I just finished fixing up the pictures I took during the drive!  It doesn't look like I can post photos here, so I uploaded them to my Google Drive instead.  But I can't seem to figure out how to add links either, so... any ideas??

Thank you.  I would really hate to think anyone believes I am willing to spend over 3 hours to watch 11 minutes of a game taking place.

It's easy to link photos to a post, Zak, at least the way I do it, which is on my laptop.  The photos I want to link are also on the laptop.  In a new post window, at the bottom left corner, is an "Attach file:" option.  Click on "Choose File" and select the file you want linked.  Select "Open", after which you should see the filename next displayed next to the "Choose File" button in the post.  Then just save the post, and the link will be established.  Unfortunately, to add multiple links, you have click "Edit" on your post and repeat this process for each link.

I don't know if this procedure works on a smart phone or tablet.

As for including the actual photo in a post, I don't know if that results in the photo file becoming stored on our host's server.  If it does, I recommend not doing that.  He prefers to avoid having us taking up a lot of storage with photo files.  Facebook is a better platform for this.

@flying-dutchman You know, I was so busy looking for the Attach File button along the top bar that I forgot to look at the bottom of the box 🙃
