Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Saturday, May 1st is predicted to be another warm, partly sunny day that was created especially for Miata owners.

Join Walter on another one of his drives to re-stock on your kettle potato chips. The 100 - ish mile drive has us meeting at the rear of the Cracker Barrel at 7720 Main Street, Fogelsville, PA.  We then begin our trek by leaving Lehigh County and traveling West into Berks County until we arrive in Womelsdorf, PA - the home of Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips. Traveling back into Lehigh County via our beloved Miata roads, lunch will be an option at Hops Fogelsville Hotel., which offers outdoor dining.

Be sure to let Walter know if you wish to go to the restaurant!

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by ~9:30 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😉.

Count me in for the drive and lunch,  with a slim chance I may have a rider.

Also I noticed that the most recent CDC guidelines say vaccinated people can congregate in small groups outdoors without masks,  although I'm not sure anyone wants to wade into the quagmire of asking who is vaccinated and who isn't.

Probably not good to be asking...and even if we did ask, I wouldn't want to trust someone just telling me they are vaxxed because if someone is of the mindset that they don't trust the vaccine, they are statistically likely to not believe in the disease either and would have no problem just telling people they are vaxxed.

But yeah, new guidelines have vaxxed people without masks in small groups, and vaxxed people can mix with unvaxxed with no masks, as long as the unvaxxed are from a single household.

Louie posted in the LVMOC facebook group that this run is open to non-members too, if that's the case, could you please add Zak to this run and I'll be in for Hops as well (just 1)

Zac, come early on Saturday morning. I saw your restoration video on You Tube and would like to get an up close and personal look at your '91.

Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

@zakdoesit I am looking forward to meeting the human that goes with your car. Your car looks sharp in person,  and after watching your video, I can see why. That is a very well done video as well. Great job!

Sorry, no Hops for me.  Might break off at Shoemakersville as we are having a bday dinner for my SIL.

What are they serving at the dinner, Jeff?  Maybe we'll all go there, too! 😜

I know sausage sandwiches, with a homemade sauce and chocolate cake with white icing are on the menu.  Guessing chips with dip but not sure of other sides.

My MIL has always made your request for dinner and dessert on your bday.  When I moved here in 1994, I made six not including herself.  Today it sits at 15 not including herself.  January and February are the only months she has "off" for cooking a bday dinner.  Lol

And she has always found a way to maje the food stretch so come on by!  🤣

Good for you and Haley, Jeff. Another fun time together. This time I may get to hear her on the FRS.

Too bad Annette and Alyssa aren't joining us on Saturday.

Can you put me in for a likely, but not 100 percent? Reason is I have to cut out short, have to be back home in Whitehall to swap cars and grab my gear by 12noon to head to the Poconos for a show.

@flying-dutchman I managed to find a partner for the drive tomorrow.  Can you update the reservation for Zak to be Zak & Emily (x2 for Hops)?
