Welcome to the 2020 running of an annual tradition: The M&M (Minis & Miatas) Rally. Once again LVMOC will get together with members of the Philly Mini Club for some back-road cruising and camaraderie. This will be, I think, the 12th running of this event, which was first proposed and hosted in 2008 by the Mini group! This year it's LVMOC's turn to host the event. So, here goes:
The drive will begin at the Hellertown Park & Ride lot, where I-78 meets PA Route 412, between Hellertown and Bethlehem. For quick restroom visits (within walking distance) before departure, there is a Turkey Hill (only a single restroom) and a Wendy's (opens at 10:30 a.m.). From there we will travel along many of the more obscure, twisty, fun roads in Northampton, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks and Lehigh Counties. There will be a "comfort" break at about 60 miles (~ 2 hrs) into the drive, and we will finish the event with a mid-afternoon meal at the Hometown Breakfast, Bar & Grille, at 8732 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville, PA. (This is the reason for our relatively late morning start, since they recommended that we arrive close to 3 p.m. to enable reasonably prompt seating of our groups. The seating will be outdoors at large, 8-person tables under a large tent)
We always enjoy spending time with the fun-loving members of the Philly Mini Club! Let's get a nice-sized gang of LVMOC folks together and show them that we, too, are a bit crazy (about our Miatas, that is...)
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars. To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread (or Philly Mini's event thread), stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
We will use FRS radios for communications. Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder.
PLEASE NOTE WHETHER YOU WILL BE JOINING THE GROUP AT THE HOMETOWN AT THE DRIVE'S END!

Dave, swell job on all you Janice did in preparing for the M&M drive. Many organizational skills in play here. Much appreciated. You chose a fine set of roadways as well. You made many drivers happy.
Corrina and Louie, thank you for all of the treats you borough for the group. You also made many folks happy.
And once again, Kudos to my tail, Jeff Frost. This man leaves no one behind. Good job, Jeff.
A big THANK YOU to Dave and Janice for the prep work put in to making today Great!
Thanks for the kind words Walter but all I really have to do is make sure I can keep up. 🤣
Also, another round of Thanks to Michelle and Mike and Alison for a great job of keeping group 3 on track after Walter's tire mishap.

Sorry about the tires Walter. We are glad that your driving skills are up to the task. It was a great blend of roads, and the trees looked spectacular.
Thanks Dave for piecing this together. I did a poll of Group 2, and every person had a great time. And I believe that is why we exist as a Club!

@rhetlaw No problem Walter! Glad to help! One small correction, it was not I that supplied the jack. I'm sorry I don't know his name yet, but it was another gentleman that donated the jack. I guess it does take a village! 😉
I'm happy that everyone seems to have enjoyed this year's iteration of the annual Minis and Miatas Rally. I can't take credit for the terrific weather, but it was perfect for a nice drive in the beautiful PA countryside with the top down (or sunroof open)!
Once again, LVMOC enjoyed the company of the Philly Mini folks... it's always a fun group with which to spend a day on the road! Thanks, Tracy, for organizing the Minis that participated 😀.
Thanks to our group leaders, Louie & Justin and Walter & Nancy, and to our tails, Jerry & Wanda, Corrina & Tara and Jeff 👍. We managed to "herd the cats" through 5 PA counties without losing anyone (that I know of). Walter, I'm sorry you and Nancy had the tire issue... my personal thanks to the Miata and Mini folks in your group, who pitched in with the needed wrenching, spares and trunk space (very nice of you, Bill!) to get you back on the road, and thanks to Michele, Mike and Alison for navigating the group through the remainder of the route.
Lastly, thanks to Janice, my tolerant wife and navigator, who helped check participants in as they arrived and distributed the grouping details. I couldn't have done it without you 😍.
I'm already looking forward to next year's M&M Rally!
