WE ARE CLOSING REGISTRATION AT THE CURRENT 16 CARS, TO KEEP THE GROUPS AT SAFE, MANAGEABLE SIZES AND TO MINIMIZE REGROUPING.  THANKS!

PLEASE NOTE WHETHER YOU WILL BE JOINING THE GROUP AT THE HOMETOWN AT THE DRIVE'S END!

Welcome to the 2020 running of an annual tradition: The M&M (Minis & Miatas) Rally.  Once again LVMOC will get together with members of the Philly Mini Club for some back-road cruising and camaraderie.  This will be, I think, the 12th running of this event, which was first proposed and hosted in 2008 by the Mini group!  This year it's LVMOC's turn to host the event.  So, here goes:

The drive will begin at the Hellertown Park & Ride lot, where I-78 meets PA Route 412, between Hellertown and Bethlehem.  For quick restroom visits (within walking distance) before departure, there is a Turkey Hill (only a single restroom) and a Wendy's (opens at 10:30 a.m.).  From there we will travel along many of the more obscure, twisty, fun roads in Northampton, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks and Lehigh Counties.  There will be a "comfort" break at about 60 miles (~ 2 hrs) into the drive, and we will finish the event with a mid-afternoon meal at the Hometown Breakfast, Bar & Grille, at 8732 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville, PA.  (This is the reason for our relatively late morning start, since they recommended that we arrive close to 3 p.m. to enable reasonably prompt seating of our groups.  The seating will be outdoors at large, 8-person tables under a large tent)

We always enjoy spending time with the fun-loving members of the Philly Mini Club!  Let's get a nice-sized gang of LVMOC folks together and show them that we, too, are a bit crazy (about our Miatas, that is...)

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread (or Philly Mini's event thread), stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder.

PLEASE NOTE WHETHER YOU WILL BE JOINING THE GROUP AT THE HOMETOWN AT THE DRIVE'S END!

Thirteen years of ownership and I never had to change a flat tire on my Miata. Today when I had to change two flat tires, there was no jack to be found. Thirty eight miles into today's drive, I happened to get to close to a ditch and blew out both right side tires. Six Miatas and two Mini Coopers pull over to the side of the road. I walked the string of vehicles to let them know what happened. Immediately, trunks flew open and any items that could have aided me were brought forward.

My last three or so posts following a Miata drive, I spoke of our groups connecting like a family. Today I was a living recipient of our family care. Bill Mondok not only had a jack, he also had a spare tire that fit my Miata. Not only that, he changed both tires. Since two tires will not fit in my trunk, Bill has one in his. The good news is we only live a few short miles from each other.

I believe it was Tom Kikisch who brought out his portable air compressor and topped both of our spares off with air. I know I am missing others who were very much involved in getting Nancy and I back on the road - forgive me. And let's not overlook our Mini Cooper friends. They were right along side rooting us on.

My Thank You's just don't seem to be enough to express my deep felt gratitude - but Thank You all.

Took a few photos at Walmart today. I have a few min before I  leave but this one is odd, somehow with the sunlight and the camera it looks like heaven is shining down on someone or one of the Miatas. Def didn’t see that when I took the pic. Also again I blacked out plates as I know some people don’t want them posted so I do them all

atomic Betty.. V8 swap..

Lou’s ND RF.. love this car.

Pulling back out onto the road.  The day was pure sunshine, hardly a cloud and in the 40s and 50s.  I was in the 2nd group with I believe 4 Miatas including myself and 3 Minis, one is brand new and AWD.. had no idea they made those.  Good turnout, i know group 3 ran into some issues with tires although I only heard it second hand, so no idea of the specifics

Nice job on posting those photos, Jordan. Can't wait to learn how to post photos like that.

So what you can do if it only posts the link when you paste it is add these tags to the link, and it might post the photo. For me on this iPhone it automatically converts the link to an image when I paste it. So it may be software you are using - just a guess. There can’t be any spaces between the link and the tags, but you add “” ——> it has to be exactly like that, without any spaces between the links and the tags, and no quotation marks. And the end has to be a “/“ and NOT a \

So, again without the quotation marks it would be “”

Thanks to all the organizers and participants for making this a great drive! Checked several times and couldn’t find one cloud in the sky-nice going! Had to push my NB pretty hard to keep up with that blue S in front of us in Group 1!  Fun times!

Correction on tire inflation at the mishap this afternoon. Michele's photo shows tires were inflated by Lori Klinges' (Mini Cooper) husband. I only know him as "Sarge" as he is a 22 year Army vet.
