LEADER'S WHIM DRIVE
When- Thursday, July 7, 2022
Arrive- 10:00 am for a 10:30 departure.
Where- Sheetz #712, 2008 PA-611, Swiftwater, PA 18370
Event Leader- Alisunshine
If you are free this Thursday and enjoy spontaneity, join Alisunshine on her Leader's Whim drive. With no predetermined route, we will explore some of Alisunshine's favorite Pocono roads, ending with lunch somewhere. With mild arm twisting, there may be ice cream afterwards. 😆
Since there will be no written directions, a fully charged FRS radio is highly recommended.
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. To avoid common handling of materials (remember, COVID is still hanging around...), we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
This drive will be limited to 8 cars, including the leader, with priority given to paid LVMOC members.
FRS radios will be used for communications.

I would like to join and will if you don't reach your limit. I'm in Tannersville, so... But I have a 2:00 appointment in Stroudsburg, which had been later but was moved up just this afternoon, so I wouldn't be able to complete the whole drive.
BTW, what's an FRS radio?

It’s basically a souped up walkie-talkie.

@alisunshine Hmmm, I have Navy-style semaphore flags but they're hard to use while driving.

From the latest weather I saw. It's it's really not going to cooperate. But what the hell. Ya gotta get her wet once in awhile. I'll be there.
@john-matras FRS stands for Family Radio Service. Our Club had used CB radios for years. However, the ND is not magnetic. As such, you can't use a magnetic mounted antannae. Communication is real important to keep the group together and point out road hazzards. Cheap FRS radios lack volume and distance. Many of us have learned into one specific model from Midland, found on Amazon.
