Good news! This website now has Private Messaging capability! Registered users can now send private messages to one another outside of the forum posts.
Only one requirement must be met: A sender must have previously posted at least one undeleted message into one of the forum categories.
To send a PM (Private Message):
- Click on "Members" in the Forum menu bar.
- Search for the username of the member to whom you want to send the message by entering all or a portion of that member's display name into the "Find a member" block and click on the blue "Search" button.
- When the member's information appears, click on the envelope icon under the display name. The message page will then open.
- Scroll down past the blank "No discussion" area to the message field and enter your message.
- Click the blue "Send" button.
The recipient will receive an email message, sent to the email address they have entered into their profile when registering. Also, when the recipient logs into the website, a banner will note that a PM has been received.
If you have any problems with this, please let me know at treasurer@lvmoc.net I'll try to help.

Thanks, Wayne, that is correct. There are several ways to initiate a message... I didn't want to make the instructions too lengthy, just wanted to include the basics at first.
If anyone finds an additional lead-in for a PM, please post it in this thread 🙂
Thanks!

Not seeing this function since the recent update? Is it gone or am I just blind?

I can't find it, either, Jeff. I'll ask Mike Mann to look into this. A lot of other things in the website changed this week. All the site management menus have changed and I have to dig around the new stuff to find things I normally do 😬!

Whew, so I am not losing my mind. Lol. Yes, I too have been searching for things since the update.
Figured out the like button is now the very hard to see thumbs up in the upper right of a post.
Thank you for looking into it.

Jeff, I just found that our PM plugin is not compatible with the updated wpForo version 😖. I have asked Mike Mann to get us the PM plugin version we now need.
Ask me how much I love "progress" 🤬 !!
BTW, what is the "lime button"?

Ah, the good ol' non-compatible plugin. Well at least you were able to find the issue quickly and hope that Mike Mann can get it resolved just as quick.
How much do you love "progress"? Oh wait, it was rhetorical. lol If you ask me, it is wonderful. I mean, where else does moving forward with something new mean that you take several steps backwards too. haha
Oops, I meant the "like" button. 🤪

Is that the little "thumbs-up" symbol, at the lower left of a post?

Yes it is and last night it was at the upper right of the post?! Very strange.
