Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Join Walter on another Miata Drive as he leads us back to a Mexican restaurant we visited in our pre-COVID days - Tio Juan’s Margarita Mexican Restaurant, near Lansdale, PA.  After lunch we will drive a very short distance to have our dessert Ice Cream at Freddy Hill Farms, which the Club has also visited a couple of times during recent years.  This entire drive is approximately 116 miles in length.

After driving forty-five miles of our beloved Miata roads in Lehigh, Berks and Montgomery Counties (approximately an hour and thirty-five minutes), we will stop at the Walmart Supercenter in Bechtelsville for our comfort break.

Our second leg of travel has us driving another forty-five miles of more Miata roads and arriving at Tio Juan’s Margarita in approximately an hour and forty minutes.  From the restaurant, we will head for Freddy Hill Farms for ICE CREAM!

After our dessert Ice Cream, we will return, via Allentown Road, to Route 309 in Coopersburg, where the drive will end.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

This has now become the 29th Run of the year, slipping in here, moving the 29th to now the 30th!

Thanks to Walter and Nancy for yet another great drive and gratitude for Jim T. who made sure that we all stayed together. The Mexican food was fantastic and the ice cream at Freddy’s was a wonderful way to end the day.

Thanks for those kind words Alison - we appreciate them. And, yes, a big thank you to Jim Turner for stepping up and tailing for the group - Well Done. And thanks to the folks who got on the radio during the Drive to provide information.

Hoping everyone enjoyed their Mexican Cuisine as much as you did.

And it was also enjoyable to have Rob Rhodes stop us and ask us about our Miatas at Freddy Hill Farms. Hopefully we will be seeing him and his '92 Sunburst Yellow Miata at one of our Drives.

Walter, you did it again... you found "new" fun roads in an area we had previously visited several times!

We again enjoyed the Mexican food at Margarita and the ice cream at Freddy Hill.  Thanks for a fun day 👍!

Thank you, Dave.

I agree with you, that area does have several fun roads to enjoy. As you pointed out at our gathering point, so happy my route didn't take us through the center of Macungie on a Das Awkscht Fescht weekend.

Thank you again Walter for putting together another round of great roads to drive!  Have to thank Jim for stepping up to be the tail and make the "right right"! 🤣

I do have to confess though that we still haven't broken into the chips & salsa.  Tam prepared a steak dinner Saturday night with baked potatoes and side salads and we were both too full to even think about a treat.  Last night was our niece's (not Haley) bday dinner so we were stuffed after dinner and bday cake....maybe tonight? 🙂

@ctt3mx5

Thanks, Jeff. And, yes, Jim did step up and did a swell job. And his "right, right" even drew a chuckle from Nancy. That was a pretty creative line.

You and Tammy will have to try the salsa and chips before Sunday. Can't wait to hear what you think of them.

@rhetlaw  We had a chance to try the chips and salsa.  The chips were very thin as you said and we both thought they could use some more salt.  The salsa was good but way too spicy for Tam.  I can tolerate it but Kaila loved it (she is our spicy child lol).
