Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Join Walter on a 90 mile drive over a blend of familiar and not-so-familiar Miata Roads and Touring Roads.  Our route will roll along the winding roads of Northampton and Bucks Counties.  The first leg of travel has us driving 43 miles from the Wawa in Bethlehem to the Giant Foods Store in Coopersburg for our rest stop.  Our second leg of travel is a 47 mile jaunt on more of our beloved Miata roads to our final destination, The View at Morgan Hill, to enjoy an outdoor lunch on their patio, with beautiful views of Pennsylvania hillsides while looking across the Delaware River into the mountains of New Jersey.  If you have never been, this is a Drive not to miss.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

@dennyedward

Denny, we will probably arrive at the Giant in the 11:30 - 11:45 range. Our rest stop will be a good 15 - 20 minutes.  You've got a sizable window to work with.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Walter

Sorry to hear this, Jerry 😟.  Can't be two places at the same time, right?

@rhetlaw Thanks Walter! I have it locked and loaded. Which sounds like I put it away after I loaded on the route.... why would I do that?

Thanks to everyone who joined us on today's ride. Emma and Denny were the most courageous as they continued their drive from home to the Giant in rain. Once again, many thanks to Janice and Dave in being today's Tail. It never fails, that on some nice roads, Janice and Dave get stuck behind an Alien. And it happened again today. Your sacrifice is much appreciated.

All in all, those raindrops added a bit of interest to our ride. And to think the previous owner of my '91 would never have it out of his garage with a chance of rain.

It was amazing to find some of the awesome Miata roads absolutely dry. I was happy the staff at The View went out of their way to seat us together.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at another Drive.

Thanks, Walter, for a fun day 👍!  We didn't mind the unsettled weather (from sun to raindrops back to sun, etc.)... it wasn't wet enough to spoil the driving over those great roads.  You again found roads that were new to me right in my former "back yard"!

Yes, following that Cadillac up the switchback section of Lower Saucon Rd... well, needless to say, we weren't moving briskly... 😕.  But, the lunch at The View and the chance to become better-acquainted with our newer members really topped off the day nicely!
