This is a rain or shine event.
Written directions are linked at the bottom of this post.
SORRY, FOLKS, THIS DRIVE IS NOW FILLED!
Join Alisunshine and Mike C., Saturday, October 16, on their Leaf Peeper Drive in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. The drive includes plenty of twisty roads, some gentle curves, and lots of autumnal color, but scrupulously avoids common tourist destinations. Check out the Fall Foliage Forecast here.
Meet in front of the Ocean State Job Lot, 801 Male Rd, Windgap, PA 18091 Several fuel stations are in close proximity.
The mid-drive rest stop will be hosted by Ray Price Mazda in Stroudsburg, during which our Miatas will be prominently displayed, so shine ‘em up!
This drive concludes with lunch at Kasa’s Pizza in Paradise Valley, PA, which features pizza, steaks, subs, etc, an attached Taco Bell, and, most importantly, ice cream. Kasa’s provides both indoor and outdoor seating.
9:15 Arrive at Ocean State Job Lot
9:30 Drivers’ Meeting
9:45 Depart
The number of cars will max out at 15.
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

Thanks again, Alison and Mike. Especially loved the road out of Kunkeltown, I think that was my favorite stretch. Always love driving through falling leaves…

The wind became very blustery on the way home and I was assaulted by falling walnuts/acorns/chestnuts (?) and even an Osage Orange smacked my windshield (no damage and thankfully missed the operating wipers). But one of the objects nailed my hood! Guess I’ll be looking for dent repair recommendations, haha…

Ouch! 😖 We found a lot of tree debris on Lower Smith Gap Road, on our return. Fortunately, the wind had subsided, so not much was falling on us.
