Join Walter on a drive to Roadies Restaurant and Bar, at Penn’s Peak, to enjoy a patio lunch overlooking the Penn Forest. Following lunch, we will travel fifteen minutes to Annie’s Ice Cream in Jim Thorpe. On the way to Annie’s, we pass the Jim Thorpe Memorial, where we can stop, if anyone is interested. The total driving distance is approximately 120 miles. Our route begins in the Easton area, driving Northampton County roads and crossing the Blue Mountain in the Wind Gap area. After our rest stop at Weiss Markets in Brodheadsville, we continue traveling over both Monroe and Carbon County roads. The drive returns via the Lehigh Gap and ends at the juncture of routes 895 and 248.

I thought it was great when the NA pulled in and the owner said that he has seen us on runs throughout the year, and wanted to hunt us down. Then he joined us for the rest of the run.
it occured to me that us being out there on Runs, is some of the best advertising for our Club. So thanks Walter!

I didn't realize the NA stayed with us for the rest of our Drive. That's fun. I am so impressed how Miata owners just navigate to our gatherings. Earlier that morning, Terri and Ian, from Virginia, came over and introduced themselves to us.
It is a shame our drive over Mahoning Mountain Hillclimb area was led by an SUV. The first-timers missed out on a hoot of an experience.
Also, in my post yesterday, I want to apologize to Mike Pagotto from the Pocono Region. That was Mike's first Drive with our Club and I neglected to mention his name. Mike stayed with us through Roadies and, being a dog lover, he pets had been alone since 7:30 that morning. It is welcomed to have a dedicated pet owner as a member of our group.

Thanks for a great time. Those were some really nice roads and a fantastic group Looking in the mirror when I got home reminded me I need sunscreen next time.

Mike, so happy you enjoyed yourself on our Drive yesterday. Sunscreen and "absolutely no morning coffee" is a must for me.
I am getting ready to post another Pocono Region Drive. It will be the Francis E. Walter Dam Drive. Some very nice Miata roads but the views from the Dam head are absolutely delightful. It will be posted for a Sunday Drive. Hoping you will be available.
Another round of thanks! Austin enjoyed himself and said he'd like to come on future runs. Next time, his uncle will make sure he doesn't eat a whole bag of beef jerky so he has room for ice cream. 😬
Nice to meet some new members and and maybe Ian and Terry bring their Miata up the next time they visit?
