This event has it all. Your Miata gets to be in a car show with other Miatas only. You get a great breakfast for $7. There is a free airshow. Kids ages 8-17 get to go up in plane for free! Then, when you think that you are all funned out... Walter will lead us for ice cream on a great bunch of Miata roads. Oh and it is on a Sunday. And it is our 14th Run of the year!
Quick update on Walter's Run from the Airshow to the Creamery!!! He has a 2 hour, 47 mile drive on great Miata Roads!!! You don't want to miss this event! Breakfast! Airshow! Car Show! Great Run!! Sign up!!!
We are excited to have an all new event for everyone. We have been invited to an airshow and pancake breakfast by the EAA 839. They are a Club that operates out of a small airfield in Stroudsburg. Their mission statement is:
Chapter 839 is passionate in enjoying aviation with others who have a similar interest and the desire to share aviation with the local community through fly-ins, picnics, workshops, Young Eagle rallies and more. We are an Active Chapter with a hangar and lots of exciting projects in the works.
To those ends, they have a pancake breakfast on Sunday, June 13 to raise funds for their operations. We have been invited, as a Club to display our cars in a special section, to show off our sportscars, and our Club. In addition, they offer to take children aged 8-17, who are with their parents (to sign paperwork), for a free ride in an airplane.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! After we are done enjoying the airshow, we will launch from there in a Run back to the Valley, with a destination of Kline's Farms. All of their ice cream is made by them, with no artificial colors or ingredients.
What a great way to support local!!!
Please come and attend. This will only cost $7.00 (alright, $10 if you round up for a good cause), to see an airshow, be the star of a car show, have your son or daughter up in a plane, and have a fun ride back for natural ice cream!
Date: Sunday June 13
Time: 9:00 breakfast begins and your car should be arriving
Location: 222 Hickory Lane SAYLORSBURG (MAKE SURE YOUR GPS DOES NOT CHANGE IT TO STROUDSBURG).

Great drive afterwards! Thanks Walter for making this an event for everybody! I want to thank everyone who came to this event! We don't get to display our cars like this very often!

Thanks for setting up this event. It was great fun!
Thank you Louie. Once again, I am so impressed how this large number of Miatas was able to navigate the roadways and stay together as a group. To have yourself as a Spotter, Corrina as a Spotter and Haley and Jeff as the Tail was again truly impressive.
Interesting, Dave Warner from Lebanon remarked the efficiency and importance of the FRS radio. I certainly would second that. He and his wife, Nell, appeared to enjoy themselves at their first LVMOC event. He is definitely proud of all the updates / improvements he has added on his 2008 NC.
Thank you Officers for accepting this invitation from EEA to showcase our Miatas and enjoy a great time at their airfield.
Thank you, Jeff, for introducing our Club to The Ice Cream Lounge. Cindy certainly puts out a great product.
This was certainly a fun day!! Thanks to Rod Hatcher, of the Experimental Aircraft Association, for inviting the LVMOC gang to participate in their display of interesting aircraft and their pancake breakfast. I've long enjoyed looking at, and flying in, small airplanes, and this was my first opportunity in many years to do so. The EAA folks are a very friendly group of enthusiasts, much like LVMOC, and it was nice of them to offer this event to our Club, where we could display our fine collection of Miatas (Rod is a Miata owner, himself 👍).
Walter, thanks for once again assembling a fine collection of roads and leading us to the day's finale at The Ice Cream Lounge 😊.
Finally, thanks to the "Weather Gods" for their cooperation today!!!

This was a great event, thanks for putting it together. It's nice to do something different. Walter, thanks for another great drive!
I just finished editing some of the photos I got from the event! Shamefully, I admit I didn't take as many as I should have, but I think I got a few good ones!

Thank you Walter for putting together a wonderful drive with some beautiful views! Not sure where we were but at one point we hit another "tummy tickler". Haley was giggling and she also told me that her favorite parts are the sharp turns. I have told her dad that he has five years to save for a Miata. 🙂
I also liked the change of pace the morning offered as we had more time to socialize and talk to other members. I enjoyed hearing how Bob and Ginny met....another Navy story! It was very nice of the EAA to include us and maybe this will become a "tradition"?
I'd also like to say thanks to everyone for being patient at the Ice Cream Lounge. I initially told Cindy that we would be arriving between three and four (based off of other runs) so she wasn't as prepared as I know she would have been. I hope you all enjoyed!

Nell and I had a GREAT time, and I concur with Jeff, having some more time to peruse the club’s cars and get to know folks was a great opportunity that only made the following drive even better.
Your Club has handily earned my membership, and although I may not be able to make the time to haul out there from Lebanon too often, when I do, I promise to make my time count!
My only regret from this weekend is not taking more photos, or getting over to see the aircraft closer! I was too busy meeting new people!
Thanks again Walter for the fantastic planning and execution of the brilliant drive!

Jeff, I know exactly the "tummy tickler" road you are talking about - a 3/4 mile stretch on Poplar Valley Road - right after Lower Cherry Valley Road.
Always a joy to hear how Haley is enjoying herself.
Dave, so happy to hear you and Nell had a good time. Nancy certainly enjoyed her time with Nell. We learned a lot about you two. Looking forward to your joining us again on a Drive. We will make a point to make it worth your while.
Great Job on your 2008 NC - Very Nice.
@zakdoesit I would love if you sent me these at full size to my email address. The clarity of these is amazing. Plus you have a good eye.
