This event has it all. Your Miata gets to be in a car show with other Miatas only. You get a great breakfast for $7. There is a free airshow. Kids ages 8-17 get to go up in plane for free! Then, when you think that you are all funned out... Walter will lead us for ice cream on a great bunch of Miata roads. Oh and it is on a Sunday. And it is our 14th Run of the year!
Quick update on Walter's Run from the Airshow to the Creamery!!! He has a 2 hour, 47 mile drive on great Miata Roads!!! You don't want to miss this event! Breakfast! Airshow! Car Show! Great Run!! Sign up!!!
We are excited to have an all new event for everyone. We have been invited to an airshow and pancake breakfast by the EAA 839. They are a Club that operates out of a small airfield in Stroudsburg. Their mission statement is:
Chapter 839 is passionate in enjoying aviation with others who have a similar interest and the desire to share aviation with the local community through fly-ins, picnics, workshops, Young Eagle rallies and more. We are an Active Chapter with a hangar and lots of exciting projects in the works.
To those ends, they have a pancake breakfast on Sunday, June 13 to raise funds for their operations. We have been invited, as a Club to display our cars in a special section, to show off our sportscars, and our Club. In addition, they offer to take children aged 8-17, who are with their parents (to sign paperwork), for a free ride in an airplane.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! After we are done enjoying the airshow, we will launch from there in a Run back to the Valley, with a destination of Kline's Farms. All of their ice cream is made by them, with no artificial colors or ingredients.
What a great way to support local!!!
Please come and attend. This will only cost $7.00 (alright, $10 if you round up for a good cause), to see an airshow, be the star of a car show, have your son or daughter up in a plane, and have a fun ride back for natural ice cream!
Date: Sunday June 13
Time: 9:00 breakfast begins and your car should be arriving
Location: 222 Hickory Lane SAYLORSBURG (MAKE SURE YOUR GPS DOES NOT CHANGE IT TO STROUDSBURG).

I am booked solid this weekend, plus I want to let you all on a little secret: I am terrified of planes. So much so, I’ve never even been on one. Ever. Had chances to but declined. I don’t know why.. maybe something about not being able to control the situation. But it just so happens I have a lot of work going on this weekend so I won’t have time to be there. I hope everyone has fun and I’m sure I’ll see you all sooner than later. 🙂 😉

It's good to hear that you're fully booked for the weekend, Jordan, even though that prevents you from joining this event. Hopefully this trend continues, to compensate for a brutal 2020!

Thanks! Yes April-July last year was probably the worst few months I’ve ever had. I can’t compare it to real true suffering because I had food and shelter, but it was really hard. I ended up selling my most expensive guitar (a Taylor Acoustic) to pay bills. Broke my heart

i feel your pain. The beginning of last year I was doing ten shows a month, then zero.
right now I only have one and am having a hard time getting others as some bars just don’t want to do anything yet.
Please remove us from the list. We cannot make this event.

Zak will be there! And at the moment I'm planning on joining the drive afterwards too. I'll be driving up from Philly so if anyone's along the way and wants to meet up for part of the drive to the airshow, let me know!
1991 Red w/ 210k miles. Bone stock, for now!
I did the pre-run for Sunday's Drive this morning and found the roads in good condition with no detours or road closures. We do have to deal with Routes 115 and 191 but we are old hat at that.
On the Drive, we will be passing no less than five wineries. Although we will not be stopping, we can wave as we travel by.
One road I was very much looking forward to introducing the Club to was Upper Little Creek Road. We meander back and forth with the Little Martin's Creek on our left, then on our right and we even drive over it. We drive over no less than five small bridges as we navigate this road. It is a very quaint drive.
Unfortunately, a bridge in the half way point had a sign that it will be under construction beginning June 8th. I am hoping there is a delay in their construction schedule so we can enjoy the road. Otherwise, we will detour.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.
Walter
