OWOWCOW CREAMERY IN EASTON (NOTE - NO PICNIC LUNCH THIS TIME!)

When -                   Saturday, August 15, 2020

                                  Drivers' Meeting: 9:30 a.m.

                                  Depart:  9:45 a.m.

Where -                  Wawa Easton

                                  310 Larry Holmes Drive

                                  Easton, PA  Location

Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Enjoy another Ice Cream drive as we explore more Miata roadways in Southeastern Northampton County and Northeastern Bucks County.  The first section of the drive will navigate Miata roadways to our comfort stop at Veteran’s Memorial Park in the Upper Black Eddy area.

From the Park, we will drive along a blend of Miata roadways and scenic views of the Delaware River, eventually leading to the Upper Black Eddy bridge, where we will cross into New Jersey.  Traveling North we have magnificent views of the Delaware River.  As we travel a bit inland, we pass through farmland, grazing land, horse farms and finally . . . more views of the Delaware River.  We return to Pennsylvania via the Riegelsville Bridge and follow Route 611 North.

However, our Miata fun isn’t over just yet.  We deal with more twisties on Browns Drive and Old Well Road as they connect us to Morgan Hill which leads us to Route 78.  For those who wish to stay with the gang for a nice lunch, we will head into the Morgan Hill Golf Course (before we descend Morgan Hill to I-78) and dine at The View at Morgan Hill.  This is an excellent restaurant with a nice menu and a large, outdoor patio... be sure to let Walter know if you wish to go to the restaurant!

After our lunch at The View, we will proceed to the OwowCow Creamery in Easton for our frosty dessert 🤑!

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars (or stuffing our faces with ice cream).  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

This drive will be limited to 15 cars, including the leader, with priority given to paid LVMOC members.  If the 15-car limit is not met, we will open the drive to non-members.

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:30 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

Very nice drive, Walter... thanks!  You always manage to combine good weather and great roads 👍!  The lunch at The View at Morgan Hill worked very well, with their widely-spaced outdoor seating and all the service people wearing masks (and good menu!).  And, OwowCow's Blueberry-Peach Cobbler ice cream was a perfect finishing touch to a fun day!
