Where - Wawa Bethlehem
741 E. Broad St (E. Broad St. & Stefko Blvd.)
Bethlehem, PA Location
Event Leaders - Louie Draxler and Walter Cramer
We will be joined on the Sunday Drive by our friends from Lehigh Valley Mini. Not to be confused with PhillyMini. This is a truly Lehigh Valley M&M Drive. We hope to have a lot of Fall Fun together!!
PLEASE NOTE: UPDATE!!! THERE IS ONE COMFORT STOP 20 MILES INTO THE 70 TRIP. After our ice cream, you can either wave goodbye, or head back into the Valley with Corrina and I. If so, we will be heading back on a 29 mile drive that ends at LCCC in Schnecksville, on Rte 309. 4 miles south on 309 is the 22/78 interchange.
We will be leaving Wawa and going over the mountain, hooking up with Vera Cruz Road and moving on some roads less traveled. I have tried to incorporate a lot of roads that often get overlooked because we tend to use certain roads in this area for good reason. They are good roads. But the Brit in me looks longingly at those B Roads, this time saying, "Right! Let's have a go, then!"
Please note: We will stop at at a Redners quick stop before Longacres. This will be a comfort stop. Longacres is open at 10:00 on Saturday and 1:00 on Sunday. Sunday will have us leaving an hour later than Saturday to accommodate.
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. We will require that all participants maintain six-foot social distancing, and we will require masks to be worn when not in our cars (or stuffing our faces with ice cream). To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
This drive will be limited to 26 cars, including the leaders, with priority given to paid LVMOC members. WE HAVE TWO LEADERS, AND THEREFORE, TWO GROUPS EACH DAY.
We will use FRS radios for communications. Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder. Or, with enough time to fill your tank, and empty your bladder.

Normally, no. However the state is trying to spread as much tar and stone chips as possible to our roads. So we had to reroute a bunch of roads since yesterday.
Sorry. What I would forward would no longer be accurate.
A bunch of us have been purchasing Garmin GPS units off of Ebay for $59 that allows us to send files to each other and just follow the purple line.
We look forward to seeing you today!

Thank you! It will be mostly accurate. Walter had to reroute us a little due to chips on the road.

@dotachin10, We have Motorola FRS radio. Thank you for sending us a copy! Looking forward to seeing you there!
Brian, good to hear from you and that all is going well. We do miss you not be able to join us on rides. I feel your pain with those oil and chips. Twelve Miatas traveling 25 mph with much distance in between each car doesn't sound too painful. Until you look at the que sheet and see we are on this road for five miles - ugh! I have a different set of roadways for this morning's drive.
Hoping to see you in the near future.
@rhetlaw i felt like I was in a nightmare as I would get to one crossroad after driving a mile @ 15 MPh and think I was in the clear and hit another road the same way... fortunately, no bad scratches when I finally made my way home.
good luck everyone today... enjoy!
Rain should stay away for your drive today, coming in from the south you might see a few sprinkles here and there, especially after 3pm, then wet from about 5pm today through Tuesday morning 5am.
Stay dry, have fun, eat ice cream!
Hi all - here are a few video for Sunday from my dash cam. For better quality be sure to playback with HD mode. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks again for inviting the Fiatas to the club!
Nobu
Thanks for those well wishes, Wayne. We had a wonderful day - We had a wonderful weekend. We got to meet new folks on both days. Viewing the blend of Fiats, Mini Coopers and Miatas this morning was a joy - and colorful. We even had a 30th Anniversary Edition "Orange" Miata out of NYC join us.
Louie led the first group out and I led the second group. My group consisted of two new members and spouses. Once again, I can honestly say that our Miata members can bond like family. Everything was going smoothly until we heard "continuous cabin radio noise" over the FRS. We pulled over and found one FRS was set on VOX and opened up at any sound. Our new member, Bill, went into the menu and fixed the problem. We had a minor mishap with a temporary loss of a couple Miatas that were eventually brought back in the fold (those darn oil and chips). Through it all, no anxiety, no moans. Everyone was as helpful, flexible, thoughtful and supportive as could be. It is a joy to be involved in this group.
Thank you to Ken Hill, Jr and Gail Harrison for doing a masterful job in tailing our group today. A treat was having Ken's mother, Judy and father, Ken, Sr. joining us on the ride today. Did I mention that Ken Hill, Sr. also drives a 1991 BRG?
Kudos All.
I am glad you made it. What a beautiful car that you have!

I had a great time today. I am impressed that Alexander came down from Brooklyn to join us. He drove down yesterday with his friend, stayed in a motel, and showed up HOPING that we would let him join us. That is amazing. He said the Clubs in his area don't really do drives. He had a great time.
We had new members today too. It is always great to see new faces and new cars. Plus I hope that they vote for me when our polling opens soon!

@rhetlaw. Give Gail the credit for giving us the information about today’s run. It was our first time and we felt like we were family! Excellent job leading us today! We also enjoyed The trivia along the way! Can’t wait to do it again and see you and make more new friends.
