Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Again, Saturday, April 23rd is going to be another warm, partly sunny day, 64 degrees, that was created especially for Miata owners. This is the same Drive that is being offered on Wednesday, April 20. This is an opportunity for those who are unable to attend the April 20 drive to traverse those great roads and to load up on the best chips, pretzels, etc., in eastern PA!

Join Walter for a weekend drive to re-stock on your kettle potato chips.  The 100 - ish mile drive has us meeting at the rear of the Cracker Barrel at 7720 Main Street, Fogelsville, PA.  We then begin our trek by leaving Lehigh County and traveling West into Berks County until we arrive in Womelsdorf, PA - the home of Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips. Traveling back into Lehigh County via our beloved Miata roads, lunch will be an option at Hops Fogelsville Hotel., which will hopefully offer outdoor dining.

Be sure to let Walter know if you wish to go to the restaurant!

Presidential note: this is the 5th drive of the year!

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:30 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😉.

Alan, so glad you are going to make the trek in from New Jersey. You chose well. This is a Drive you will truly enjoy. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

I’d like to tag along.

I’m doubtful for lunch.  I’d love to stay but need to get home for the sixers tip-off at 2!

If the timing works.. I’m in.  If not, I’ll be hitting the road prior.

Couple variables yet to know for sure if I can make it. I have a show Saturday kind of far away and earlier than usual but since Hops is 10 min from my house I may be able to just head home after we are done, swap vehicles and head out to the venue. I’ll let you know on here Friday night, Walt. Thanks

Matt, you are more than welcome to tag along and pull off when you have to. That happens quite often in our group. The good news is we will be at Dieffenbach's by 12:30 latest and route 78 is just up the road. You can hop on that and be back in the Valley in about fifty minutes.

What another great day driving our Miatas. I had a little bit of rain driving to Cracker Barrel and upon arriving that light drizzle stopped. We had a delightful dry day driving on dry roadways. Thank You Tom and Mike, so happy you enjoyed the day.

And a HUGE thank you to my relay team of Wendy and Randy Rohr and our Tail Ken Hill. With a team like that, leading a Drive is so much easier. This Drive was Wendy's first time as middle relay and she did a remarkable job on the FRS. Looks like there will be more of it in the future.

Dieffenbach's always enjoys when our Club arrives. I wonder why that is?
