                                  Easton, PA   Location

Event Leader -  Gail Harrison

Join LVMOC Vice President, Gail Harrison, on her maiden voyage, for a morning and afternoon of exploring the roads of Northampton County, PA, and Warren and Sussex Counties, NJ.  There will be an enjoyable mix of Touring and Miata roads, with 120 miles of fun Miata driving, scenic views and a delicious patio lunch at the Boathouse restaurant, on the shore of Swartswood Lake, in NJ.  There will be two dessert opportunities - one at the Boathouse and, two hours later, a second at Klein Farms Dairy & Creamery, near Easton, PA.  Rest Stops are planned on the the first and second legs of travel at the QuickChek located at the intersection of Bridgeville Road and Route 46.  With driving, rest stops and lunch, I would plan on a five and a half to a six hour day.

The restrooms at Wawa, in Easton, are still not open to the public.  A rest stop is scheduled at the QuickChek, which is a twenty minute drive from the Wawa.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

Gail, what a pleasant Drive today. Thanks for a very nice mid-week break.

Good roads good friends and wonderful scenery. The Boat House restaurant on the shore of Lake Swartswood was a pleasing choice. So nice to enjoy the view of the lake while enjoying a delicious meal.

Well done on your Maiden Voyage, Madam, Vice President. Looking forward to many more from you.

Thanks, Gail and Bill, for a fun day on the great roads of N.W. New Jersey 👍!  That's one of my favorite driving regions, with many hilly, curvy roads that are almost all in good condition (vs. those in PA 😝).  Great choice of lunch stop... Janice and I will have to visit the Boat House again, in the future.

And, thanks for putting together and leading your first drive for LVMOC.  I hope that you'll run more for us in the future!  (Any other LVMOC members thinking of running a drive can get more information about doing so HERE)

Thanks everyone for your kind words.  Feels good to have my first ride turn my belt.  The Boathouse has been one of my favorite places to take a Miata ride for a very long time.  I was happy to share that with all of my Miata friends!
