Fun continues. I took the ND to Mazda for appraisal for RF trade in yesterday.

After looking at it - The Mazda tech parked it wayyyy too close to other cars , for my taste at least. I never park near anyone. I even said to the salesman, why did he park it there? He goes “it will be fine”. NOPE.

A big SUV comes in and parks on my drivers side. A woman opens her door and hits my drivers door- looked around / saw no one saw it, and acted like nothing happened. I think she thought it was new bc it was just detailed and just ignored it.

well I have nice chip now and a circular dent surrounding it

But.. they got it on video! I called them. They said they’ll fix it for free and bill the owner of the SUV.

Anyways I’ll be there tomorrow but my point is some people SUCK. I also think people who damage nice looking cars just assume the owner can pay for it or is willing to bc they have the $.

too bad she was caught on security camera ! Damage to personal property and in some jurisdictions even a dent you cause is considered leaving the scene.

IF YOU BRING YOUR CAR IN TO MAZDA - make sure they park it far from the others, not just where it was convenient for the technician.

Man, another tough break, Jordan. So glad you noticed the damage when you got home and phoned the Dealership. Happy to, that they had video coverage of the lady doing the damage. Go figure.

@rhetlaw it’s unreal. My mom

always said red cars = bad luck.

I am however second in line to get this:

2023 RF BBR Club in that dark blue. I wanted jet black but this is coming in next week instead of 4/5 months. The guy who ordered it backed out 3 times. He has 1 more chance. With S-Plan pricing, loyalty rebate and 2020 Club equity will be below $28k which is decent considering it as $41k MSRP. And since my car was damaged at the same dealer they’re going to discount more. Will see!!

I would like to give Walter a big thank you!  Haley and I enjoyed the roads that he put together and that small jam on 209 gave us a chance to catch our breath.  Haha. The weather was beautiful and it was great to see everybody and meet some new members.

Also a big thank you to Kelly for her job in the middle and to everyone else for the radio chatter.  With a group of 17 cars, this was very helpful to me in the back and I am sure the others feel the same.  It gave me a better idea of when I might see that oncoming vehicle, walker, cyclist, etc.

One last shout out to Rodney!  The true tail of this drive who did a great job of keeping all of those pesky Miatae rounded up.

@ctt3mx5

Thanks, Jeff. Interesting that you spoke of the reprieve on route 209. No one likes having to drive route 209, especially on race day, but there is no way I can give up the great Miata drive on Mount Nebo, Frutchey and Hollow Road, followed by a return route on Mount Nebo.

Very nice to have Stefanie and Danica and Doug Brittain return for their second Drive with the Club. And Richard and Sandra Clark on their first drive with the Club. Richard sent me an email telling of the joy they had on the drive and how welcomed they felt by our members. I was very impressed with how tight the front eight Miatas stayed. Unfortunately, I could not see the back nine Miatas.

Agree with you whole heartedly regarding Neil and Kelly being the Middle relay and you and Haley continue to do a marvelous job in being our Tail. Thank you. I also concur with you with the FRS comments throughout the Drive. I always say, "as a Leader, I need to know what is happening back there".

All in all, another fun time driving Miatas with Club members.

As always, Walter, you brought your A Game. We had a great time and the food was even outstanding. All around, well done Sir. It was nice meeting some of our new members too. We always seem to attract very friendly people into our Club.
