Join Walter for another new Drive. This Drive will be about 130 miles in length, with approximately 100 of those miles on our beloved Miata roads. The additional 30 miles is four lane travel back to our ice cream destination in the Lehigh Valley. We will have a rest stop at the Delaware Water Gap Welcome Center and picnic lunch at the Big Pocono State Park which at the top of the mountain above Camelback Ski Area and Water Park. For those interested, we will be ending the drive with Ice Cream at the Klein Farms Dairy & Creamery, north of Easton. With driving, rest stop, lunch and ice cream, this could end up being a 5 1/2 - 6 hour day. Of course, you can drive to your hearts content and pull off when you’ve had enough.
The views from Big Pocono State Park are exhilarating. Looking South we see the Delaware Water Gap to our left, Wind Gap area in the center, and the Lehigh Gap to our right. Looking North you will enjoy more great views of the Pocono Region.
We will be gathering at the Shell Station, 428 Nor Bath Boulevard, Northampton. The Shell Station is at the intersection of route 329 and Howertown Road. We will gather at 9:00 - ish with a Driver’s meeting at 9:15 and a departure time of 9:30.
This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety. To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet. Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
We will use FRS radios for communications. Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder .

Never too late. Welcome to the ride. This is one you will enjoy if 130 miles isn't too long of a drive for you.
Please provide your name.
Walter
Looks like I was 1 minute too late.
Thanks for responding to this Dave.

Good Morning, All.
I have been asked whether or not Big Pocono State Park provided picnic tables.
I was remiss in my description, I should have mentioned that fact.
YES, there are picnic tables at the Park. However, camping chairs will allow for flexibility in seating and back support.
Please add Jim0. Hope I can make it.

I’ll be there, just did the sound tube delete and interested in if it’s quieter in spiriting driving. Not just for that but I missed the last couple.
lol ^^ removed from engine bay. Weighed about 1 pound but frees up nice bunch of room under there

So yesterday after work I got my new tires mounted at the only place open late enough to do it, "Mr. Tire," and I was of course the last car out as they were closing. Pulling away from steering wheel now shakes like a coal truck at 25mph, so now I have an appointment for tomorrow morning for them to hopefully ACTUALLY balance my tires. So long story short I couldn't have come today even if I wasn't stuck at work. Have fun, everybody.

depending on timing, maybe you could meet us at the first stop? The second?
Brain, so sorry to hear that. Hope things work out well with Mir. Tire today.
Going to miss having you and your '91 BRG with us today.
I'm at work right now, and they can't get me back in to fix their half assed work until tomorrow, so definitely not. The car would be undriveable above 30mph right now. I took my Mini Cooper to work.
