Event Leader -  Walter Cramer

Join Walter for another new Drive.  This Drive will be about 130 miles in length, with approximately 100 of those miles on our beloved Miata roads.  The additional 30 miles is four lane travel back to our ice cream destination in the Lehigh Valley.  We will have a rest stop at the Delaware Water Gap Welcome Center and picnic lunch at the Big Pocono State Park which at the top of the mountain above Camelback Ski Area and Water Park.  For those interested, we will be ending the drive with Ice Cream at the Klein Farms Dairy & Creamery, north of Easton. With driving, rest stop, lunch and ice cream, this could end up being a 5 1/2 - 6 hour day.  Of course, you can drive to your hearts content and pull off when you’ve had enough.

The views from Big Pocono State Park are exhilarating.  Looking South we see the Delaware Water Gap to our left, Wind Gap area in the center, and the Lehigh Gap to our right.  Looking North you will enjoy more great views of the Pocono Region.

We will be gathering at the Shell Station, 428 Nor Bath Boulevard, Northampton. The Shell Station is at the intersection of route 329 and Howertown Road. We will gather at 9:00 - ish with a Driver’s meeting at 9:15 and a departure time of 9:30.

This event will follow the current Pennsylvania rules for COVID-19 safety.  To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will now consider your post to this event thread, indicating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😏.

You're on the list, Mike.  It will be nice to see you again... its been several years.  Also, I'm anxious to find out how the engine swap went!

Thanks Jeff. It has been too long. Your avatar is showing a different car than I remember. When did you get the white one?

@goober

Hey Tony, my car got dinged up the other day and probably won't be ready in time. Would you mind if I tagged along with you as a passenger??

I took this video at Sheetz last time, basically going around trying to identify all the models (NA, NC2, ND1 etc) if I got any incorrect my apologies. I was going to make this video just about the NC3 25th AE but there were so many I got side tracked 🙂

All great looking cars, I wish I could have one of every generation

Jordan, nice work on this video. AWESOME stuff. Enjoyed your commentary.

Once again you proved we certainly have an incredible mix of some good looking Miatas.

Recently returned from Big Pocono State Park. I had to finalize some odometer readings.

My both recent visits to Big Pocono I was met with windy conditions on the mountain top. I know Saturday is suppose to be a warm day, however, packing a windbreaker as a "just-in-caser" may be a good idea.

In driving up the mountain there is a pond on the left. In it were two Swans - one floating and the other nesting. There is a link to the photo below.

My trying to capture the beauty of those far away mountain views proved futile. You'll just have to wait and enjoy the magnificent views Saturday in "real time".

Walter
