This drive will be limited to 15 Miatas and 15 Minis!

Welcome to the 2024 running of an annual tradition: The M&M (Minis & Miatas) Rally.  Once again LVMOC will get together with members of the Philly Mini Club for some back-road cruising and camaraderie.  This will be, we believe, the 14th running of this event, which was first proposed and hosted in 2008 by the Mini group!  This year it's LVMOC's turn to host the event.  So, here goes:

The drive will begin in Wind Gap, PA, in the parking lot at Giant Food Store and Ocean State Job Lot, (click on "Location", above) not far from PA Routes 512 and 33.  There are restrooms in the Giant store.  Giant has no gas pumps, but gas is available nearby.  The drive's route is largely that of LVMOC's former annual Pocono Drive.  It is divided into three parts: 52 miles, 22 miles and 36 miles, with a total distance of 110 miles.  We will travel along roads with so many curves that our drivers' arms may become tired from cranking the steering wheel😍!  There will be a "comfort" break at about 20 miles into the first leg, and others will occur before the second and third parts.  We will finish the event with a mid-afternoon meal at the Blue Mountain Drive-In on Mountain Road near Danielsville, PA.

NOTE: You might want to bring a cooler in which to keep your Callie's chocolates until you get home!

We always enjoy spending time with the fun-loving members of the Philly Mini Club!  Let's get a nice-sized gang of LVMOC folks together and show them that we, too, are a bit crazy (about our Miatas, that is...)

Your registration in this Forum thread confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, and we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

We will use FRS radios for communications.  Be sure to arrive at the departure point with a full gas tank and an empty bladder 😉.

PLEASE NOTE WHETHER YOU WILL BE JOINING THE GROUP AT THE BLUE MOUNTAIN DRIVE-IN AT THE DRIVE'S END!  We need the final number of diners by September 11!

Attending:

  1. Dave P. & Diane (Lunch x 2)
  2. Dougie B. (Lunch x 1)
  3. Iva (Lunch x 1)

Please remove Dawn and Tom from the list. We won’t be able to make Saturdays drive as we have both come down with Covid.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about Dawn and Tom, but if there's still an open spot I would love to join my first ride!

Just myself this time, and no lunch

A big "Thank You!" to Ken and Walter for your pre-runs and GPS mapping 👍!  Ken, you did a great job of "herding cats" in our Group 2, and thanks to Jeff and Haley for being our tail and to Jesse and Amanda for being our mid-pack relay communicators, and to my co-pilot, Janice, for announcing the directions and keeping me on course.  Walter, although I wasn't in the group that you led, I'm sure that you did your usual fine job of leading your gang of "Cats"!  I certainly heard no complaints.

Once again, it was fun mixing it up with our fellow little car nuts in the Philly Mini Club.  We always look forward to learning what you've been up to during the past year!  Thanks to Tracy and her team for coordinating the Mini folks for the Rally!

And, finally, thanks to the Weather Gods for one of the finest days on the road that I can remember 😎!
