Welcome to the 2023 running of an annual tradition: The M&M (Minis & Miatas) Rally. Once again, LVMOC will get together with members of the Philly Mini Club for some back-road cruising and camaraderie. This will be, I believe, the 15th running of this event, which was first proposed and hosted in 2008 by the Mini group! This year it's Philly Mini's turn to host the event. So, here goes:
This year we begin at Living Memorial Park, across the street from Giant, inCoopersburg. The first leg will wind through the countryside backroads of Hellertown and Bethlehem, then cross into New Jersey and reach a midway stop in Phillipsburg, NJ.
After our break, we will get some excellent New Jersey twisted roads, including the famously twisted Shades of Death Road! Not to worry though, we shake off the shades of death on Hope Road and then on to our final destination for some good old fashioned Hot Dog Johnny's treats. Please note: Hot Dog Johnny's is a CASH ONLY business. There is an ATM available on site but if it's a busy day, no guarantee it will be working.
After lunch, if you haven't had enough fun, we can recommend following us for a short bonus leg to M&M Vineyards, in Bangor, PA to finish the day among the sweet grape vines of their tasting room/patio.
We always enjoy spending time with the fun-loving members of the Philly Mini Club! Let's get a nice-sized gang of LVMOC folks together and show them that we, too, are a bit crazy (about our Miatas, that is...). Philly Mini has asked that we limit our group to 15 Miatas.
Per M&M's Tracy:
What to bring:
FRS Radios,
Full tank of gas,
Money for lunch/snacks. Hot Dog Johnny's only takes cash but they do have an ATM there too.
Your registration in this Forum thread confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, and we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).
Again, we will use FRS radios for communications.

Dave, unfortunately I am unable to attend tomorrow's M & M event. I have developed an eye issue - pain, watering and light sensitivity. I am trying to make an appointment with our Ophthalmologist.
Have a fun time tomorrow.
Walter
Thanks for letting us know, Walter. I hope you can resolve the eye problem.

It was great to, again, meet with the folks from Philly Mini for a day of sun and fun 👍! Thanks to Tracy and Lin, the leaders of the two groups of cars, for guiding us over a lot of fun roads, and to the Philly Mini members who planned the route! The scenery in the hills and along the Great Valley area of NJ was super, and some folks even sighted a black bear along the route (I missed it... I was looking where I was driving, for a change)! It's always nice to talk with the Philly Mini gang, since we see them only once a year. BTW, this year is Philly Mini's 20th anniversary... we, at LVMOC, wish them a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
Already looking forward to next year!
