Presidential note: If any of our members have Mazda lanyards laying around, please bring one or more. We are moving towards lanyards and name badges attached to them. Any lanyards will be appreciated.

WHEN:         Sunday, June 11, 2023   12:00 Noon – 3:30 p.m.

WHERE:        Louise Moore Park, Pavilion #5 (Eastern side of Country Club Rd)

                       151 Country Club Road

Easton, PA   LOCATION  (Near intersection of PA Rte 33 & US Rte 22)

Dust off your Miatas and bring them out to the annual LVMOC CarBQue!  There is plenty of room to display your cars while you enjoy a picnic-style lunch, become re-acquainted with old friends and meet new friends.  This will be a FREE event, for the enjoyment of our members 😍!  It is open to LVMOC members and their guests.  We want to show our appreciation for the loyalty of our members!

The registration cutoff for this event is Tuesday, June 6.  This will allow time for us to purchase the necessary food and refreshments.

We will serve burgers, hot dogs, potato, pasta and fruit salads, bottled & canned water, soft drinks & teas.  Attendees are welcome to bring a dessert item to share with others, such as cookies, cupcakes, etc.  We have an alcoholic beverage permit; you may bring beer, wine, etc. for your personal consumption.  (No, we're not "throwing a kegger" 😝!)

An approximate timetable for the afternoon's activities:

12:30 p.m. - General Membership Meeting.  The Club's Bylaws state that we must have a General Membership Meeting at least once a year.  Not to worry, though... we'll keep it short!.

1:15 p.m. - FOOD!

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Prospective Drive Leaders' Seminar and Open Discussions

3:00 p.m. - Drawing and 50/50 raffle

The Club will again host its annual Garage Sale / Swap Meet, where you can display your excess Miata parts and accessories to swap or sell.  A few ground rules for this are:

  • To participate, you must be a paid 2023 LVMOC member
  • All items must be Miata-related
  • You will be responsible for watching your stuff
  • All sales transaction will be strictly between the seller and the buyer
  • All items must be clearly tagged with your name and price, if applicable
  • You are responsible for removing all remining items from the Park at the end of the CarBQue
  • LVMOC is not responsible for any losses you may incur

Please remove Celia and Warren and create an opening for another member.  Celia and I have another commitment that has arisen in this day.  I apologize for the late cancellation.

@ctt3mx5 nice.

See you all then. Question tho. Which convertible to bring?

just kidding. Honestly thought- likely going to order a 2023 black RF Club and trade in my 2020 Softop Club. At the moment it’s worth around $7-8k more than I owe, so dealer wants it - and trade in to save on tax. The dealer wants my car so bad they’re always calling and sending letters.

The black car on the other side is my gfs car, it’s a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT w/ sport package and power hard top. Yes, this top goes into the trunk. Yes, it’s automatic. Yes, it’s front wheel drive. No it is NOT playful on the turns. It’s got good acceleration especially at high speeds- a v6 makes about 220hp & similar torque.

Anyone ever see these?? I don’t think I have. Only 68k on it, she’s the original owner.

edit: I also cannot figure out who this car was marketed for. It doesn’t do anything all that well besides the hard top and convertible. The interior is typical Pontiac-crap with way too many small buttons and all the fuel and engine/maintenance information is stored on the way out of date OEM factory head unit, which means you can’t even swap in a nice double din without losing oil life, trip, any issues etc

Edit: sorry for off topic

WOW !  What a great day for this event.

But even better than that, hats off to the Officers, Louie, Neil, Dave, Jeff and Ken as well as others that made today such a wonderful experience.  And let's not overlook the spouses of these Officers. We know it was a family affair.

Any new members in attendance got to experience and saw first hand the camaraderie, joy, laughter and friendship of our membership. So happy to see this event so well attended.

Once again, Kudos to you Men and Women.

Was nice to see everyone today! I had fun, thanks to the LVMOC leadership team for organizing it! I have been quite busy so I haven't been able to make it to drives, but rest assured I do want to go and I will try to make some time in the future to go (and I will drag my husband along if I can!). Hope to see you all again soon

P.S: My miata is the white ND with a lot of stickers. Yes I didn't back into the lot, not because I want to be different but because I'm bad at driving xD You are welcome to make fun of me!

Seriously thanks to whoever returned my wallet - I can’t believe I dropped it. Must have been distracted and got out of the car with it on my lap.

On behalf of the LVMOC officers, we are overjoyed at the turnout yesterday. I got to talk to many members that I haven't had that opportunity in a while. We had a great time with everyone and hope to see many faces at drives and the October picnic.

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped to make this a successful event  👍 👍!  We were very fortunate to have fine weather and that the smoke from the wildfires in Canada did not return.  From what I'm hearing, everyone got enough to eat (the burgers were great, Chef Louie!), and the side dishes and desserts were yummy (thanks to all the folks who brought desserts!).

I personally enjoyed meeting our newer members, (for some of whom this was the first LVMOC event that they attended) and talking with the old-timers.  As usual, I didn't get to talk with everyone I had hoped to, but it was nice just to see your smiling faces!

The assortment of Miatas in the parking area showed that our members have a terrific assortment of cars.  Dave Y. again displayed his creativity with his NC, and I checked several cars that had some significant and unique engine and suspension "improvements" 😯!    I forgot to count how many Miatas were there... If someone did count them, please let us know via a reply in this thread.

I counted 81 people in attendance, which is the highest number since at least 2011 (as far as my records go)!  Thanks to all who came out!!

Finally, a special thanks to Evan Hill, who helped Janice cover the tables, and to "videographer" John Pitino, whose very interesting video clips of the event can be viewed on the LVMOC Facebook link.

I have a count on the total cars by generation and the version of the NC/NDs at the time I was there at least, when the video was taken, which was right at 3PM on the dot. Most definitely some had to leave early/out for a ride/someone left before I got there:

NA: 5

NB: 4*

NC1: 2

NC2: 5

NC3: 3

ND1: 5

ND2: 7

TOTAL @ 3PM: 31

*1 was a MSM (MazdaspeedMiata)

I forget whose it is, but the one attached - poly metal. I love so much, and the black ND2 softop top, wow. Also the amazing artwork under the hood of the silver NC2- nice to see superchargers on a bunch too!
