The Philly region SCCA opened up registration for the start of their Autocross (AX) 2026 season on 5/9 at the Philadelphia Mills Mall.   Grab a helmet, gloves and attack some cones.  This is open to stock and prepped cars and novices are classed separately (see rule book for classes).  Speeds are often below highway limits (2nd gear usually) and the focus is on car control.  "Autocross is all about skill, precision, and having fun behind the wheel."

If you're interested, you can always spectate and walk amongst the drivers in the paddock.   The Philly region is home to several regional and national AX champions whom are willing to help new drivers into the sport.

Several other nearby regions host events as well.  NEPA, Susquehanna, and not to mention the PA Hillclimb Assn.

Again, thanks for posting this, Steve!  I participated in autocrosses in the late 1960s, and I always enjoyed them.  A great way to test your skills without the risk of high speeds!  I hope some LVMOC members can attend on May 9.
