Hello All, I have a question about what fluids I should change.

I just purchased a 2008 Miata Touring, automatic. This car had just 11,333 miles on it when I signed the papers Thursday night. Based on the mileage, you might think it doesn't need anything, but based on its age...

I am thinking I want to have it winterized (flush and fill), brake fluid swap and rear differential drain and fill. Based on what I've read, I'm not planning to do the transmission, but I'm happy to hear your opinions.

Dealer did oil and filter before delivery.

What do you all think?

Thanks

Yes ^ I would get one even if my tank looked perfect. Peace of mind is nearly invaluable

In addition to the oil and filter change, the dealer installed a brand new set of Hankook tires and did a wheel alignment. I ordered the Moroso tank (still on sale) from Good-win, so will hold off on the flush 'n fill until it gets here.

Thanks for all the advise and suggestions!

Edit: and the brakes seem just fine...

This was installed last Friday:

So, all the fluids I intended to change are changed and the transmission fluid was deemed fine.

Took it for a 300 mile spin on Monday. All is good. 😎

@fredm Fantastic! Now you need to sign up for some drives with the Club to socialize your car with other cars!

Looks good and give you peace of mind, classic form AND function!  🙂  Now you just need to get the matching PS reservoir.  😉

Yeah, that tank looks pretty nice under the hood, for sure.

I noticed the PS reservoir on my own car.  I assumed the color is stained from the fluid. I don't think there is any pressure in the reservoir,  unless times have changed. I will keep my eye on it. Mine looks more discolored that Fred's.

@livetodrive

I believe you are correct.  If I still had the NC, I planned on buying it for aesthetic reasons.  That discolored tank was an eyesore.
