Since I know I'm not the first to have this problem, what have you done to fix the cupholder door latch when it breaks?
It looks to me like there is some sort of spring or something (now broken) that keeps it pushed down so it will go into the hole at the front?
Short of maybe trying to jam a sponge in there, is there a better option?
Sounds like you need a new Miata, Wayne... 🤔

or maybe just a sponge?
Sorry, never owned an NC. Have you tried other forums such as miata.net? I found them very helpful with NB & ND questions. Good luck!

Called the stealership today and got lucky, the latch itself is replaceable. $42
Wow - stealership, indeed!

@jim-turner That's a lot less than the price of a new Miata! 🤣

Yup. I guess to keep the purchase price competitively low they try to recoup profit using higher prices for OEM parts. I’m sure the profit margin for the latch is much higher than for a new vehicle - almost as high as used vehicles as a result of the pandemic/price gouging.😉
