Looking to replace OEM Bilstein shocks on my 2006 Mazda Mx5 Miata NC with 103K.

Have enjoyed the ride of the Bilstein, unless someone has an alternative shock in mind.

Thank you in advance

Hello Walt, what is it that you want these replacement struts to perform....are you simply looking for an OEM equivalent as far as ride, height, etc.?  Or are you looking to upgrade to a performance orientated strut that will improve the handling of the car and lower the ride height an inch or two?  If the latter, then I suggest you jump into the rabbit hole with both feet.  haha

@walt For stock ride and height, another alternative would be the Koni STR-T also known as the Koni Orange.  My understanding is that they are the same ride as the Koni Yellow set to full soft and not adjustable.

That said, the ride might be a bit more harsh on stock springs over the Bilsteins or you might not notice a difference.  Ride, like exhaust noise is very subjective.

If you have been happy with the Bilsteins it might be a better choice to stick with them.

Thank you, looked at reviews for the Koni orange and it seemed like customers were disappointed.

Going to stay with the Bilstein and have R/T Tuning make the install.

Thanks,

Walt

It is interesting that you wish to maintain the ride height.  The NC in particular has a lot of wheel gap. Almost enough to go off road. I can understand not wanting to significantly lower your car. We do live with crap roads. But if you want something noticeably better with a comfortable ride, I am very happy with my choice. I kept the Bilsteins and replaced the springs with Eibach. It lowered the gap 1". My car rolls noticeably less around turns, especially the rare chicane. It no longer nose dives on a hard brake either.
