Just completely ridiculous. Picked it up yesterday (2020 Club softop) from Koch.
1) The infotainment screen was replaced perfectly. However, no one bothered to connect the bloody wiring harness under the center console switches. So I drove home wondering why nothing was working, thinking the unit itself was defective until I got home and took the center console apart. Sure enough, the infotainment wiring harness wasn’t even connected! It only took me 10 min to remove the plastic dash pieces and connect it but that’s just plain ridiculousness right there.
2) The button straps on each side of the interior of the new soft top are not attached and are just hanging there. You guys with ND soft tops know what I mean. They are above the rear of each driver and passenger window. There is supposed to be a button on each side where the straps connect. Just not there.
Non technical complaint:
3) The car was bloody filthy. I mean, the worst it’s ever been since I got it. I never let it get that bad. Exterior and interior. Fingerprints all over the glass and such, dirt and mud caked on the hood, dust everywhere inside etc. The passenger seat looked like someone spilled talcum powder on it and smooshed it around. Isn’t it courtesy the dealer washes it for you before pick up?
4) The fuel door is the only thing that works correctly so far.
I know it sounds like I complain a lot about this car but there *IS* justification - and here it is. It’s a 2 year old $32,000 vehicle that I take insanely good care of - that has had one problem after the other - minus the motor and transmission (which I concede are likely most important) - and I just want what I paid for. Nothing more nothing less.
Yes I will be calling them Monday. Hopefully they can clean the interior at least and fix the soft top button straps.

It's hard finding anyone local that won't screw up a Miata. All major mechanical work on mine is done by Planet Miata.
After a long list of WTF's I no longer trust any local garages. The local Mazda dealer (starts with Y ) couldn't do an oil change without screwing it up!
That is crazy Jordan! Have you had any contact/luck over at Koch with getting these items addressed? As I mentioned elsewhere, how does the ST operate? I would want to make sure that was installed/adjusted correctly to avoid the same issues down the road. Maybe time to trade in for that RF after all?
@zonker Thankfully, I have a trusted mechanic that I have been going to for 28 years. He doesn't specialize in the Miata but he is honest and I trust his work. However when I had the suspension done on my NC, I used Joe Davis Autosport in Perkasie. At the time, I requested to speak to Evan (not sure if he still works there) as he is very knowledgeable about the Miata platform. Also that dealer that starts with Y that you refer to is now Koch, where Jordan took the car. 😉

The soft top doesn’t even close correctly- all this fabric gets in the way.

Car is back again at the dealer. Just in time for the nice top down weather... Not that the top folded down anyway. It was like too much fabric blocked it.
6th time it’s been at a Mazda dealer for something warranty related. Half hour drive each way for this one.
I made a proposal to the service manager, Chad. Throw on the OEM black club side skirts (come on the BBR CLUB) at no cost and we are good. It takes like two guys 15/20 min to install. He said he’d check with the body shop - didn’t give me a full answer. I think i deserve at least that (car has been at a or the dealer for approx 6 weeks total for all kind of stuff).

Wonder if any of these defects & incompetencies are covered by Lemon Laws? Maybe Mazda USA can (should!) know about this and help out.

Way back in the 80's, GM bought a car back from me. Only took 11 months and required arbitration, so much the "your issue should be resolved in 40 days" blurb in the warranty booklet.
Anyway, if PA Lemon Law is similar to NJ's (from the 80's), if the car is in the dealer's hands more than 30 days for the same issue, then it qualifies as a lemon. Worth looking into current statute.

@fredm Found this blurb "Also, if your car is at the dealership for any repairs for a cumulative total of thirty days during the first 12 months or 12,000 miles, you may demand a refund or replacement" Automobile Lemon Law – PA Office of Attorney General Might be worth looking into it

You guys may not believe this. But it’s still messed up.
they put the new one on, it wouldn’t open.
brought back.
they adjust the new one.
now it won’t….
close. I am bloody stunned. This car is def a lemon - maybe not legally yet but it’s getting to the point of being outrageous
