@rhetlaw yeah, the obsessed Miata owner can be annoying!!!!

haha, although I would not identify you as an obsessed Miata owner, Warren.

I would say it is always a good thing for a Miata owner to have a new adventure lying ahead of he or she.

Quick update: this will not work with a PRHT with Bose system. If you don’t have BOSE, then it will work.

@dudester7

what the heck does the Bose have up there, a speaker top center?  I thought the Bose system was just better speakers and a better head unit, but didn't know about additional hardware.

@triviawayne apparently there’s a switch in the center latch (that blocks the opening for the jass performance scoop to slide in).  That switch tells the BOSE system that the roof is either open or closed, and changes the acoustics appropriately.   Sooo if you have BOSE, or had BOSE, this opening is blocked.   Someone on Miata.net was talking about it.

From miata .net: and So, the center latch has an audio switch in it (for Bose, at least) that seems to alter the sound for when the top is down. Would this scoop fake that switch into thinking the top is up, so the Bose radio would operate in the Closed Top mode?

this was posted by someone on there.  Further discussion reveals  the scoop won’t work….
