Pancake Breakfast/Airshow/Miata Car Show/Free Airplane Rides/Ice Cream Run 5/14/23

When -                   Sunday, May 14, 2023

Arrive:      9:00 a.m. at Pegasus Airpark (Breakfast begins)

Where -                  Pegasus Airpark

                                  222 Hickory Lane

Saylorsburg, PA  Location (between Brodheadsville & Sciota)

NOTE that there will be no organized drive from the Lehigh Valley to the Airpark!

LVMOC will meet at Pegasus Airpark, near Stroudsburg, and join the Keystone British Car Club for another fun event hosted by EEA 839.  Your Miata gets to be in a car show, along with a lot of nifty British sports cars.  You get a great breakfast for $8.  There is a free airshow.  Kids ages 8-17 get to go up in plane for free!  Then, when you think that you are all funned out... we will head for ice cream on a great bunch of Miata roads.

The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 839 has again invited LVMOC to their airshow and pancake breakfast at Pegasus Airpark, a small turf airfield near Stroudsburg. The EAA 839 mission statement is:

"Chapter 839 is passionate in enjoying aviation with others who have a similar interest and the desire to share aviation with the local community through fly-ins, picnics, workshops, Young Eagle rallies and more. We are an Active Chapter with a hangar and lots of exciting projects in the works."

To those ends, they have a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 14, 2023 to raise funds for their operations.  We have been invited, as a Club, to display our cars in a special section, to show off our sportscars, and our Club.  In addition, they offer to take children aged 8-17, who are with their parents (to sign paperwork), for a free ride in an airplane.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!  After we are done enjoying the airshow (probably by around 11:30 - 12:00), we will launch from there on a drive to Klein Farms Dairy & Creamery, north of Easton, PA, for ICE CREAM!

Please come and attend.  This will only cost $8.00 (alright, $10 if you round up for a good cause), to see an airshow, be the star of a car show, have your son or daughter up in a plane, and have a fun ride back for ice cream!

Again, the location of Pegasus Airpark is 222 Hickory Lane SAYLORSBURG (MAKE SURE YOUR GPS DOES NOT CHANGE IT TO STROUDSBURG).  For a link to the EAA Chapter 839 homepage and directions, click here .

We will use FRS radios for communications on the return drive.

To avoid common handling of materials, we will email the directions to participants, for home printing, and we will eliminate the usual paper sign-in sheet.  Since the sign-in confirms your agreement with LVMOC’s standard Waiver and Release, we will consider your post to this event thread, stating that you intend to participate, to be your “electronic” signature, indicating your agreement with said Waiver and Release (copy available on request).

I got home late and I don't have enough time to get everything ready for the morning and still get as much sleep as I need so I'm gonna drop out.

I saw a polymetal RF today in Hellertown. Waved to each other (I was in my soul red soft top) - anyone here? It looked like it was just cleaned

Great day, in my humble opinion👍!  Perfect weather, a lot of Miatas (about 22), a collection of vintage British cars, a couple of street rods (!) the usual nifty aircraft ( I love that biplane!) and the company of good friends.

Since it was Mother's Day, a couple of members brought their moms (Tony / Eileen, Jordan / Deanna), and Steve and Cheryl Moller displayed their competition Miata, so our group could learn about how a Miata becomes a "racing car".  We welcomed some members who hadn't been to our events in a while and some newcomers, as well.  And, of course, Dave Yeboah displayed his creativity, not only with his "extreme" Miata but also with his latest endeavor: custom fuel lids!

After a morning at the Airpark, about 10 of us headed out on a 50-mile jaunt to Klein Farms Dairy, for ICE CREAM, a fun way to end the day.

Thanks to David LaFaver and his staff, at EAA-Chapter 839, for again inviting us to join them at their Pancake Breakfast and display of their interesting aircraft.  The folks at EAA-Chapter 839 are nice people who love to talk about what they fly, and we always enjoy this event.

Thanks to all who attended!
